  • Zippah, if you'd like the book on the Master Cleanse, just email me and I'll send it to you: freewitheft@yahoo.com I agree with others about jumping into stuff that will cause heavy detox. Before I tried the Master Cleanse, I was already in the habi…
  • rawpretzela, have you weighed yourself or are you going by how your clothes fit? Just wondering, because I'm having an issue with my clothes as well. My jeans don't fit AT ALL, but it's because I was doing body sculpting in addition to my Tae Bo and…

  • crazydoglady: FWIW, I resisted trying a fast for a long, long time. No way I could do it with my schedule, I thought. I kept hearing positive stories, though, and I eventually had to try it. What an amazing experience! I have done longer juice fasts…

  • I use them for texture, to make the smoothie a little thicker. To me, they are so bland I can never taste them once I add berries or pineapple! I don't see any reason why you really need them though, if you prefer other fruits. :)
  • Congrats! :)

  • sv3, are you charting with your Basal Body Temp? That will tell you if you're ovulating. Haven't used reflexology myself, but I can highly recommend acupuncture. Seems like they work along the same lines, er, meridians. ;) I know there is one acupre…

  • Raw Passion, start keeping a food diary if you are not already. That can help pinpoint which foods are adding to your problems. It may be that switching to some other foods will alleviate symptoms, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're healing. I…

  • Mmmmmmmmmm kale chips! :)
  • Interesting, and it does make sense to me. :)
  • Funny, I was just talking about Dr. Young on another post. lol! I'm anxious to see what you think of the book. I've read a lot from him online, but never checked out the book. I'm confused though. I thought that apple cider vinegar was one the *best…
  • 1. Yes. I go through cycles where I might have a few glasses of red wine every week, then weeks or months of no alcohol just because I don't want any, or anywhere in between. 2. I think there are some benefits to alcohol, red wine in particular. It'…
  • Right side abdominal pain can be appendicitis. It's been a few days since your original post, though, so I think it would have progressed by now! At any rate, it would probably be good to get it checked out. eta: When I got appendicitis, it started …

  • *blush* Thanks Isis, I enjoy your posts too!!!
  • just kim, yep you are still in a fasting state. It's not quite the same as a water fast, but because the smoothie is all blended up, your body is not having to work much to digest it. That means it takes the energy it's saving and goes out to find o…
  • My guess would be detox too, especially if you know you're really sensitive to it. It's funny, my first Master Cleanse went along the same lines only sped up over the course of 10 days. lol Days 1-5 I felt great, Days 6 & 7 I had extreme fatigue…
  • You know, I do credit hanging around this site for keeping me around 75% raw most days during the winter (some days lower, mostly because I didn't want leftovers to go to waste so I'd have some for lunch). I think that otherwise I would have gone lo…
  • *raises hand* Yeah, me too. I've noticed that, in the last couple weeks, I'm starting to gravitate towards more raw already...even though we're still getting snow here. lol I guess my body's clock is pointing me in that direction regardless of the l…
  • I know what you mean, although I'm at a different crossroads. I gave up my career when I had kids and now I don't really want to go back to it (healthcare, off-shifts, rotating weekends, etc - not great for a single mom!). For just about 4 years now…
  • I eat more when I work out more too. And now that I'm managing to make some headway with lowering my body fat % and increasing muscle, I think my metabolism has stepped up a bit. I occasionally overdo it and it doesn't seem to make much difference, …
  • M42, I think there are lots of possibilities here like needing more calories or that you're detoxing. Just want to raise another possibility that I never would have considered unless I went through it myself. ;) Not only did I realize that I had som…

  • Yeah, I have lots of allergies. So does cami, who posted up above. lol One of the supplements was my natural food store's private label, the other was a Country Life product. I have missed something before, because I read the label too fast and it l…
  • The thing with those IgE allergies is that the quantity that's ingested doesn't really matter. If it was enough to get into the bloodstream and cause the immune reaction, then it was enough. I have had reactions to the small amount of corn in supple…
  • There are a lot of supplements that contain corn - it's usually listed as maltodextrin. Luckily, many manufacturer's are labeling what their products are "free of" in much more detail these days. Be diligent on checking labels every time you buy, so…
  • jakkrabbit, what you are dealing with is something that will absolutely make or break a person. It's obvious you are sooooooo on top of it. You are a warrior!
  • Hi Shelli, I think doing 2 raw meals then a cooked dinner is a great transition. Don't push yourself too hard or you will rebel and binge on stuff that you wish you hadn't. ;) 1. If you feel like you need more protein, try hemp powder. I use it in m…
  • IsisDC, that put a smile on my face! Drive-thru's are a busy mom's best friend, so it really sucks that there aren't any that are useful to me.
  • Mellie, your avatar alone is testimony to what you're saying. :) I will be trying the papaya mask!
  • I'm not sure that it's a long-term solution, but I can tell you that I've done 4 Master Cleanses, and every time I got comments about my skin. Even from people who didn't know what I was doing, they just noticed the difference. So maybe that would b…
  • Hey, you said it's not a new thing, you've been already thinking about this for a long time. Going raw is giving you the *clarity* to decide what you need and the ability to clearly hear what the universe is telling you. :) I say get up and go. Life…
