Slice it open and chow down! The entire thing is edible, including the rind and seeds, but I don’t usually like the bitterness of the rind.
It also blends well in smoothies.
Once I bought the small guavas attracted by the beautiful smell. When I prepared it to eat, it was good, however the seeds, I found, were extremely hard and too solid to chew so I had to somehow spit them out (which was quite difficult becuase they are so small!)
Does anyone know how to remove the seeds efficiently?? Any techniques?
Mine is green and hard though…
I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t be.
Yeah its not ripe yet. Wait til it gets soft.
Hi Shady Lady… I just went to your web site and enjoyed your sense of humor!
I read you would like a Vitamix and I had to let you know that the BlendTec blender blends the Vitamix under the table! Set your sights higher… go for a BlendTec. They are the same price and there is no comparison. I have them both. I use the Vitamix when I don’t want so much power. The Blendtec doesn’t come with a plunger to push your food down because it doesn’t need it!
The BlendTec will grind wheat, etc., without needing a separate part. It does absolutely everything. The greensmoothiegirl web site compares both blenders, so you can check it out there. http://www.greensmoothiegirl.com/best-blender.html
Also, you will really enjoy these ‘Will It Blend’ YouTube videos, where they blend all sorts of things in a BlendTec blender! Some are really funny!
Anyway, I just wanted to save you the expense of a VitaMix and then later find out there’s a better blender.
Sorry! I forgot to add the YouTube link!
