great links on all forms of fasting from preparing through breaking your fast. also type in ‘fasting’ in the search box on the side bar of the main forum page on this website and you will find many previous threads about fasting.
el-bo? do you have any thoughts?
It is all about making a conscious decision NOT TO EAT. If you decide that you are going to fast, it is much easier.
My problem with water fasting is this:
It is great for growing in the Lord and I really need that. But, you get weak especially the first couple of days. I read that enemas help very much. Two a day. We are not the enema type of family really. I found though, that after I took an ICE cold bath, it made me feel A LOT better. TRY IT! A 10 minute bath, tis great.
I have problems over-eating after a fast. Fasting is good and I am for it, but I wont be fasting again (unless God forbid I have a serious illness). My metabolism got screwy and I def had some weird psychological eating issues after doing 3 fasts last year. BUT that is just me, LOL.
I wish you the best on your journey….
Mentally you need to just focus on how if you cheat, at all, then all your work is for naught. Also everytime I get hungry I tell myself that is a sign that my body will be especially working on eating up all the junk in me. I can’t really decide what I think of fasting. I’ve done a 10 day master cleanse, 10 day juice fast and a 72 hour water fast. I actually liked the water fast most because even though it was most difficult/hungry and I felt the worst, the three days was not nearly as daunting. The master cleansed really seemed to work though, it was the first fast I did which I think may have had something to do with it, probably had more junk in there. I agree with heathermarsbomb that you get a little obsessive with food afterward. I just broke my waterfast yesterday and today during lunch I couldn’t stop eating, all healthy raw food but one thing after another. On the plus side though, I think a fast can help you let go of bad habits. There’s always something I”m struggling with pre fast and post fast I can completly be done with it. Before my first master cleanse I had being trying to go vegan and doing it about 90 percent, post master cleanse I won’t touch anything not vegan. Also with the juice fast I was still using nama shoy and other soy products before and after was able to ditch them completley.
