  • I can totally understand your feelings. I am a R.N. and I have worked in many clinical settings for the past 10 years. It can be very upsetting to see a patient NOT realize how important their health is. I try not to be too judgemental because befor…
  • I'm known to cheat at least once a week. I'm not 100% raw, and I do love potato chips with hot sauce. It's my weakness, not sure why I give in to the food cravings, but I do. Most of the time my body feels like crap afterwards, but I always go back.…
  • Not sure aboout the first month, but I went raw in March, saw my doctor in May. I lost about 20 lbs, give or take a few. My doc was concerned, I told him about the raw lifestyle he said...oh? All my lab work came back fine.
  • Welcome. Please feel free to ask us anything, we are all a friendly bunch. You will find this site very supportive and encouraging. Good luck in your journey.
  • Thanks for the great info. I’ve never thought about the Asian markets. I normally buy the majority of my food at the Farmers Market, usually organic. Everyone is right, the food that is the worst for us cost the least and the foods that are the best…
  • I work 5 days a week, 8 to 5, then come home to homework and kids. Cook dinner, go over school work with the kids, study, read my Bible, etc….how do you guys make time to work out? I would love to work out and tone this tired body of mine. I’m glad …
  • Sorry, I didn’t answer your question. If you use a good amount of oat groats I’m sure you could use your vitamix. Any extra”flour” could be placed in the freezer for future use? Just a suggestion.
  • I soak my oat groats, dehydrate them until dry then grind them into a flour in my coffee grinder.
  • I too am frustrated with the fact that we are not able to post recipes unless a photo is attached. I believe they were trying to work out this glitch back in September, it’s now November and the problem still exists without any explanation from anyo…
  • chicory, I’m not sure if this will help, but I use only vaseline on my face at night and wash with nothing but water in the morning. I also suffer from combination skin, but find that this works the best for me. Few breakout and skin irriatations. D…
  • Thanks dodo…maybe that’s the problem I’m having as I have no picture to post. I never had that problem before…none of my posted recipes have photos.

  • I used to have a really bad scalp problem until I started using a natural shampoo-Jason’s Natural Comestics Dandruff Relief shampoo. It has MSM, Neem oil, Tea Tree oil, Colloidal Sulfur, and Rosemary. I have recently starting seeing my dandruff retu…
  • People on my job really give me strange looks when I bring in something "weird" looking. They really have a field day with the green smoothies. The dietican I work with always say positive things, the physcians....just look. I mostly get " your're b…

  • I’m a registered nurse and I rarely see the physicians order anything besides milk based protein shakes or feeds for the NG tube. I’ve never had a raw foody as a patient so this puts a new spin on everything. I wish your friend the best of luck and …
  • I always add ground flax to my smoothies, about 2 Tbsps. I think they help keep me pretty regular. Dinking lots of water always help. Good luck on your journey.
  • Desenchantee- I’m not 100% raw, I would probably say 90%-95% raw for the most part. I went raw not so much for the weight benefit. I did lose about 20 lbs in 4-5 months. I went raw because I feel better when I maintain the raw diet. I do eat about 3…
  • I would probably say not more than 4 TBSP of flax a day. 4 TBSP is equiv to 30 grams of fiber. you might not want any more than that because it will cause diarrhea.
  • It sounds like you may be nutritionally deficient in some aspect of your diet. Have you seen the M.D.lately and have you had your blood levels checked? You can also be suffering from alopecia. I would start with my primary doc and see what they say.…
  • You didn’t say that you were 100% raw. Eat and drink at the restaurant if you wish. Changing your eating habits is always a transition. Try not to feel guilty about it. I’m not 100% raw, I just follow my body, it usually tells me what I am missing. …
  • I hope you enjoy these: The Kite Runner, Babylon Sisters, Just Wicked Enough, The Gift, The Laws of Thinking, The Fifth Vial. Enjoy

  • Thanks amysue. I actually found some, I’m so excited I feel like driving there right now. If the traffic wasn’t so bad, I would. can’t wait to make these. Thanks again.
  • Thanks Kandace. Yes, I do have a dehydrator, but I try to stay away from recipes that call for nuts, they seem to be everywhere. I eat them in moderation. I’ve never made raw bars before, but that option will be expolred. Juice bars…never thought of…

  • Thanks for the compliment. That picture was taken at a play date function back in 2007, I was a vegan then. Since that time I have incorporated an 85% raw diet into my lifestyle. Yeah, I guess you can say that I’m blessed and wake up that way-as lea…
  • I have the same dehydrator, I love it , but I would love to have an off/on switch. I recently read somewhere that you can buy that switch from Home Depot and Lowes. Good luck.
  • Registered Nurse….looking to become employed by the big comfy couch in my living room in the near future-LOL
