  • 1)Greens, greens, and more greens. That's what worked for me. Salads, green soups, green smoothies, green juices, green powders, marinated greens. They cut my cravings significantly . If you haven't yet read Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko, perh…
  • Eating lots of greens curbed my cravings. Smoothies, powders, salads, juices, marinated greens--whatever you like. Also, if I crave something fatty, I eat something fatty. I just make sure it's Raw! Good luck to you!
  • C and Z—It bums me out that you’re seen as extremists on other sites or places in the Raw food world. I so much appreciate your perspective AND that you don’t try to force it on anyone. It’s there for us to take as we want. I don’t eat the same way …
  • No advice, just wanted to say my dad and his wife both quit after over 20 years of smoking. They were BIG smokers, so you can definitely do it. My stepmom went cold turkey after a day of “healing,” whatever that meant for her. Hypnosis has worked fo…
  • So what’s the bottom line on water bottles? I can’t exactly send my 9 year old off to her activities with a glass jar of water. Is there a safe bottle to use?
  • The motor/moving belt actually makes running on the treadmill easier. When you run outside, you have to propel your body forward. Try increasing your treadmill’s incline some to train for outside running. Have fun!
  • Love my neti pot! Our pediatrician recommended it for my kid’s allergies. I don’t have allergies, but use it once in a while anyway, and I believe it helps me avoid some of the yucky cold symptoms that go around.

  • Has anyone tried the Sproutman’s automatic sprouter? Good results?

  • Have you tried a temp service? I know the jobs and pay aren’t the best, but maybe it would be enough to carry you through until you decide on something better. My boyfriend went through an agency and got an assignment walking distance from us, so th…
  • Kookie Karma has yummy granola/cereal, pretty expensive, but good in a pinch.I had a few things I liked from One Lucky Duck, but can’t remember which products, since I don’t buy too much prepared stuff any more. I get that the products have a small …
  • I don’t think of Raw food as the miracle cure-all, but it’s definitely worked for me. I had mad hormonal issues that went away when I went Raw. I considered that maybe it was the weight loss that helped, but when I went back to cooked my problems re…
  • Thanks for the info. I’ll try this some time soon.
  • Do you have to dehydrate it before grinding it?
  • ardesmond2 .. . I’ve been to a couple of Raw restaurants in L.A.that don’t sell cooked dishes, but use cooked ingredients like Nama Shoyu, maple syrup and other stuff. If you want to stay 100% Raw, you really do have to ask. Bummer, huh? And I agree…
  • I recently had STEAMED quinoa at a Raw restaurant in L.A. It was the only non-raw item on their menu, and they identified it as such. (I added it to my kale salad.) They sell it because it’s “a high protein grain.” But it’s definitely NOT Raw once i…
  • Thanks for the book suggestion. I’ve really wanted to do some gardening, but I’ve got to start very small.
  • Found that I don’t want it any more, since going Raw. It tastes so artificial now, though I do miss the distraction of chewing it sometimes.

  • I agree with ardesmond2 about educating yourself as much as possible about Raw nutrition. When you know how to respond to other people’s concerns, you won’t feel stressed out by their assault on Raw. My 9 yo daughter is about 50% Raw. She would be m…

  • “For every disciplined effort, there is a multiple reward.” ...Jim Rohn “I will not be defeated.” I actually repeat that one over and over sometimes while working out. “Every man is my superior.” ... Who said it? Okay, I’ll stop before I get carried…
  • Can you get your hands on something Raw that’s close to its cooked counterpart? That really helped me with my initial transition. Also, eating the food room temp, or warmed in the dehydrator, instead of fridge-cold, helped ease me away from craving …

  • In the past, 3 things helped me get back on track: Indulging in whatever Raw foods and treats I wanted, as long as I only ate when hungry. Buying Raw ready-made stuff to have on hand. Forcing down some high quality green superfood powder. I don’t us…
  • I was at the point of having headaches when I skipped my half cup of coffee in the morning. I switched to half decaf for a while, so I was only getting about 1/4 cup of regular coffee. After a couple of weeks, I switched to a variety of teas, most o…
  • Angie – That’s a great idea. I don’t know why it hasn’t occurred to me,other than the fact that most of these dessert include nuts, which I don’t bring into the house that often (the youngest has allergies). I’m going to act on this and make a big d…
  • Luna blu, thank you for this challenge! I wrapped up my 100% on Friday, and it was a great week for me. I may do it again next week, Monday thru Friday. I think having my green superfood with MSM each day really helped (though I don’t usually do sup…
  • Tempted by Trader Joe’s samples, but made it through Day 3. Good luck to everyone today! I’m going back out for more Raw cheesecake. That makes 100% easier!
  • I had an awesome Challenge Day! I just typed all the food on my blog, and don’t feel like doing it again (lazy, I know), but it was all raw. EnjoyRaw…Don’t beat yourself up! Maybe you could buy or make a decadent Raw treat, so you don’t feel deprive…
  • Good luck on Day 2 guys! (Or what ever day this is for you) I made a huge mango cole slaw last night to keep me on track today.
  • Today was great! I did go out and buy a Raw entree to make myself feel like I’d had a treat. I stayed really busy, so that helped. Sounds like a good Raw day was had by most. Congratulations!
  • I’m in Monday through Friday. I have a million reasons why this will be good for me, so why not go for it? When I was truly 100% in the past, I had amazing results. That’s the best reason of all!
