Chili Lime sauce or seasoning?

NuttgirlNuttgirl Raw Newbie

I used to love eating those chili lime flavored almonds but since going raw I’ve given that up. I’ve tried duplicating that same flavor but I have not come even close to it.

I’ve mixed olive oil, chili powder, fresh lime juice, black pepper, sea salt, and paprika together and it doesn’t taste anything like I remember. Does anyone have a recipe that is similar to what you find in the stores?

  • Hi Nutgirl! Is your recipe not tart enough? I haven’t tried what you’re talking about but you may need to add in a more tart flavor. Are you soaking the almonds in it and then dehydrating? If so, then you could try getting the juice of green grapes or granny smith apples and mixing in about half a cup of that. It would be pretty wet but would concentrate down nicely. Also you could try sundried tomatoes in a high speed blender. Add this powder to what you have to give it more tang. I hope this helps.
