UK/US Measurements - differences?

Hi I was told recently there’s a difference between US ‘cups’ and UK ‘cups’. My UK ‘1 cup’ holds 250 ml. How much does the US ‘1 cup’ hold? Also, my UK tablespoon holds 15 ml. How much do the US ones hold?

1 US tablespoon = 14.7867648 ml

1 Imperial tablespoon = 17.7581714 ml

so

1 Imperial tablespoon = 1.20095042 US tablespoons & 1 US cup = 236.588238 ml

Google has a calculator that will do some conversions for you. Just type what you want to convert, such as cups to ml, in the search window. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, so it seems my measuring spoons are US !

(and that there doesn’t seem to be that much difference re the cups – thank goodness)
