greens for kmom!

i raided my old persian cook books and found some greens stuff for your smoothies that should be available in the markets there: lettuce, parsley,celery leaves and celery, rubarb(looks like red celery)cabbage, dill carrot tops, mint and grape leaves..heres a fruit i you may try too: quice, or beh in farsi…try that one out on your mom in law! grin;) good luck , note that carrot tops are bitter use spareingly!

  • Rhubarb is very sour raw, so I don’t know if it would work in a smoothie. Also, whatever you do, DON’T eat rhubarb leaves as they are highly poisonous:

    Usually the leaves are trimmed from the stalks, so you should be okay …

  • Blushes Aaaawww Omshanti.. you’re so great! I’ll definately be asking my mom-in-law about that one.. he he. I found out that we have Swiss chard here too, I’ve been thinking about the grape leaves but they are all getting pretty old and dry now so I think I’ll wait till next spring to try those out… I’ll be letting everyone know how the smoothies turn out in a few days..
