Don't be fooled!

In my local co-op I noticed an almond bin labeled ” raw/sprouted, new item”. I was told that some California Almond growers are now labeling their pastuerized almonds as sprouted. It’s very sad for both the consumer and the organic farmers who are trying very hard to sell their product.

Interesting! Well, it could still be sprouted, raw… but not alive. Sad.

Makes you wonder what else is labeled raw, sprouted… and not living.

Why do they even bother sprouting (which makes it more nutrient-rich) when pasteurization would get rid of these nutrients (by heating).

Not all of the almonds are pasteurized with heat. Some are being treated with poisonous chemicals. I won’t be buying almomnds in the future.

  • These poor almonds were all split in half and broken with brown scorch marks on them. They definately didn’t look like my sprouted almonds use to look.
