Dreary weather...

Ugh, this weather is terrible. Snow, rain, cold, blistery cold, back to rain, more snow, rain. Good thing the winter eventually ends, I could not withstand this forever, with no end..

So this weather has me wondering what you all do to pick up your spirits on a dreary day. Write a poem? Read a book? Tidy the house? Eat chocolate? Run around town cursing the sky?

Just looking for some good ideas to re-energize.

  • When the weather is nasty, I load up my ipod with fun songs and do some cardio at the gym. That always lifts my spirits!

    I live in South FL, so it is usually pretty nice but VERY rainy today. Don’t worry, jerseyshoregirl….your beach days will be here before you know it!!

    This Vanilla Chai Smoothie might help too. I got the recipe from my friend Rene (www.ReneOswald.com). It makes 6cups, so invite some friends over and have a Vanilla Chai Party!

    Meat from one Thai coconut
    3 cups water (use water from Thai coconut plus additional water to make 3 cups)
    1/2 cup raw almonds, soaked
    4 dates
    1 Tbsp. agave nectar
    2 tsp. vanilla powder
    1 Tbsp. fresh ginger juice
    2 t. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp.nutmeg
    1/4 tsp.cardamom
    1/16 tsp. white pepper
    Pinch of cloves
    Pinch of Celtic sea salt
    1 Tbsp. flax seed ground
    3 frozen bananas

  • Still feeling low some time later…

    I’m from Massachusetts, and it has been snowing and raining a lot this past week. Today it was bright and sunny (but still cold), but for some reason, the weather didn’t help my moods at all.

    Maybe [likely], I’m feeling so bleh not just because of the weather, but also because I haven’t been to the gym in a few days. Sometimes it helps to run and get my endorphins going, but other times, I leave the gym and still feel down. I guess every year during the winter, I feel especially down.

    Sigh. Spring will come soon.
