sprouting flax seeds?

When I soak these, they just get all mucousy. Help is appreciaated:)

  • I think it’s VERY difficult, if possible!!! From my experience the only way you may be able to sprout them is to mix a small amount of flax with a bigger batch of other not mucousy seeds.
For example you can use wheatberries, rye, radish, fenugreek… something which requires 2-3 days for sprouting, as flax sprouts quickly…theoretically..

  • We just rinse them and then let them soak in lots of water for 24 hours. Then dehydrate them. That’s the way most flax crackers on the market are done. If you want a longer sprout you will need to rince away regularly the gel like substance. It’ll take a few days to see longer sprouts.
