buckwheat kasha

I looked for buckwheat yesterday (thought I was looking for buckwheat groats?) and all I could find was buckwheat kasha. A google search shows that this is buckwheat groats that have been toasted. Could I use this in the recipes here that call for buckwheat?

Regular Buckwheat groats are not roasted unless they say Kasha. They are greenish white in color. Kasha is Brown (roasted, not raw, and will not sprout)
