Blender Healing

I absolutely LOVE reading raw food blogs for inspiration. I found this link while reading Aleesha’s Raw Life blog. It is an amazing article that everyone should read. It talks about how to heal your body of cancer, diabetes and heart disease; all things which were prevalent in my family. Aleesha posted this in one of her posts, where she talks about blending the avocado pit into her morning smoothie! Aleesha also adds starting to add a little citrus to her morning greens (including the peel), to increase her iron absorption. (I believe most RAW foodies could benefit from that!) Just read this article about the benefits of blending over juicing: http://www.aquarius-atlanta.com/feb06/youarewha…

I like this post by aleesha – about the power of words creating our reality.

  • That is so awesome! I would be a little concerned due to the hard, thickness of the seed that I’d burn up my vita-mix… what do you think?

You can’t burn up your Vita-Mix! It has a heat sensor that automatically shuts it off if the motor is getting too hot. Wait 30 min. if this happens, then use it again. It also has a 7-year warranty, so if anything DID happen, they will ship you a new one in a few days. I grind macadamias into butter in our Vita-Mix, with no liquid. If you’re adding something hard to a smoothie, you may just want to add a couple of ice cubes as it takes longer to blend the hard stuff and you don’t want the friction to cook your smoothie :)

  • Winona: I LOVE the Power of Intention! I am so happy you appreciated the post. I am constantly researching nutrition… it get so giddy when I find little gems like this.

  • Okay, I tried this last night. Read my RAW Disaster thread for the gory details! LOL!! I think one needs a much stronger blender than a regular one to make this work.

  • i’d like to know if anybody has been successful blending an avocado seed in a vita-mix? I’m skeptical this can be done because i’ve already tripped the safety mechanism on my vita mix ( which is a vita-pro commercial blender).. and i wasn’t blending something has hard and big as an avocado seed!

  • Littlebirdie,

I am sooo sorry for your Disaster! I read your thread this morning, and I feel awful that this happened to you. Please forgive me for not posting details on how to grind an avocado seed. When I read the post I had not yet tried it, though I will. My initial excitement was over the fact that if you include all parts of fruits and veggies, you will be more nourished. Again, I am very sorry for your Seed Incident. Though, I have to say, you are a great writer; and I hope to enjoy reading future posts from you…once you’ve finger heals.
