Raw food and wrinkles

Can anyone tell me if raw food actually prevents and undoes wrinkles?

I am vain and quite worried about my skin aging and want to know just how much this diet can do for the skin.

Thanks for any info.

rawspice – I’ve heard many raw foodists say this is true for them, which is wonderful, but in a year of being raw it hasn’t been the case for me. I have had improvement in the texture of my skin and much less blotchiness, but I can’t say it has plumped up at all. I’ve developed crepe-y hands at 36, which seems a little premature, and so far they haven’t changed after this year of raw. I think it was David Wolfe who said that it takes 3 years for your body to transform, it just takes that long for all the work in the body to get done, damage to be repaired, so I’m going to hang on to that and hope that I’m a third of the way there.

I don’t know about raw food and wrinkles (im 17), but coconut oil in general is fabulous for skin! Amazing how it works wonders for both oily skin on the face and dry skin on the legs! Awesome stuff.

Yes. I know a couple people that were told they look younger or have younger looking skin (after going raw).

Yes it sure does! Wheat is really bad for your skin, it causes the elasicity to loosen causing wrinkles, before I raw raw I was cooked vegan, when I cut out wheat I looked so much better. The difference was remarkable. Sugar is also said to be a problem for skin too, as is caffeine and being acidic which happens when yo eat cooked food.

My big tip for great skin is to eat cucumbers and drink cucumber juice. It worlds wonders. I have a pint or two of cucumber and celery juice it is lovely.

Silicon! Cucumber skin has it – it is also in flaxseed, whole grains, almonds, sunflower seeds, celery, apples, strawberries, grapes, kelp, beets, onions & parsnips.

Zoe – I don’t get the thing about wheat (since whole grains have silicon, too), unless you’re allergic or eat too much so it acidifies your body? Could you explain why, or where you got the information? Or is it different when the wheat is sprouted & not cooked?
