I need a chemist! Is the iron from spinach totally inaccessible by the body?

    Ive read you are supposed to ‘mix up’ the greens you eat as not to build up toxins.

    Hmm. I have heard also to mix it up. I don’t think eating spinach will hurt you, but I am no chemist. I also heard vitamin C helps absorb iron.

  • I don’t think this is true. It’s just that some food contains more of something than others. But yes, you must have vitamin c to absorb iron and vitamin D to absorb calcium. Google ‘nutrition in vegetables’ and find out for yourself how much nutrients are in different greens. I find that barley juice helps with lack of iron.
