I don’t know if I gave this the best title but here’s the story: my sister-in-law and her significant other both are disabled due to brain disorders. Both are on very limited incomes. They get overwhelmed easily, and keep food preparation very simple and easy, which means all processed foods, frozen dinners, Oscar Meyer type sandwich meat. Both have other health situations, one with diabetes 2, and I know both would feel so much better if they followed a raw food diet to the best of their ability. Sprouting will be extra steps that might be too much for them. Also, they would not be able to afford expensive blenders, even used ones, like Vita-Mix, or dehydrators. They’ll both be coming in a few days to stay for a week. Both are very overweight, puffy and bloated looking, both exhausted all the time, never any energy. I’m also very new to raw food, but in the six days I have been following it (99%), my skin so much softer, more energy alternating with more fatigue (which I believe is due to a cleansing process), no more compulsive or emotional eating, no cravings for sweets, and I’ve lost a tremendous amount of bloat and puffiness myself. I’ve lost a few pounds but I feel like I have lost 20 lbs, I’m not exaggerating. I feel so much lighter. I need to keep food preparation EZ for myself as well because I don’t like it, never have, get overwhelmed by it, and have always either eaten out, or eaten “healthy” frozen dinner (ie Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine) ALL the time. The reason I tell you about myself in this topic is that while I’m still getting the handle on this, I’ve been doing pretty good and making simple tasty things, but i’m not sure at this stage I can compile some breakfast, lunch, dinner, deserts and snacks that are very inexpensive, easy/fast for my sister-in-law. So, I need to know if they would still benefit from eating raw if they did not sprout anything, if the olives they used were from cans, and they used pasturized almond milk, the kind available at Trader Joe and Health food stores? Also, can you point me to some recipes that meet the criteria above. I know this is a lot. Thank you.
