Psyllium seed question

I just bought some psyllium thinking it was the husk instead it turned out to be SEEDS. How should I use them? Can I use them like I would the husk? Can I sprout them?

Thanks!

I started a post not to long ago on a flaxseed replacement and someone responded with using psyllium seeds. They said they had the same “gluey” texture as flax and would be a great substitute for them in recipes. I havent tried this myself, but it sounds good (smile)

  • I do believe that you can use the seeds the same as the husk, it’s the husk that has the mucilage, which makes it gooey. I think they are great for constipation AND diarhea, more like an even outer. I read somewhere that applied to bug bites and poison ivy, they cut the irritaion. great little seed. I don’t know that you would have to necessarily sprout them, it might get sticky lol.
