Wow, both excellant articles Caleb! I love how the first one stated cloned food is safe because the FDA says so…Right! After all, the goverment knows best LOL! I think the 2nd article really put it in plain english why you shouldn’t go messing around with stuff…after all look what has happened to antibiotic overuse-superbugs. So let’s make super resistant other things now! I feel sorry for people who beleive the gov’t agencies wouldn’t lie to them & think they are eating the right way. If only they knew.
Thanks for sharing those articles Caleb. The one from npr is very very disturbing (um, can we be more of a Frankenstein society?), but it’s important to be informed.
The Patagonia article offers some hope. Organic farming is sensible in all regards.
PS: as to the npr story & the ‘fast growing’ salmon… it sounds to me like it would be faster at succumbing to diseases like cancer too. Has anyone considered that consuming cancerous fish – may cause or accelerate the same disease in the consumer?
PS2: what is even more upsetting is all of the F’d up experiments we do to these poor animals. It’s absolutely unreal.
good points in your entry above drgonfly.
Off the topic for just a sec… I really like your user name (drgonfly)
Dragonflies are amazing. I did a workshop on them with some friends at the Mohonk Preserve
http://www.mohonkpreserve.org/
(near where I live). It was so much fun and so informative.
My friend is now helping to collect data on Dragonflies for conservation/environmental purposes…
Hey thanks greenghost! My husband & I love dragonflies & when we tried to get our email address this came the closest. We have a dream of some day in the future doing crafts involving them. Don’t know if it will ever become a reality, but it’s a nice dream. In the meantime we just enjoy them. Trying to get a picture of them can be challenging! Every time I see one I am reminded of their short life & how much beauty they give during it.
Wind to thy wings!
I am glad you enjoyed them. Crazy thing is just a few months ago before I cared at al about raw the NPR article wouldn’t have bugged me, but now it does. The other article by Patagonia I really liked too. I check their blog daily. They always have great posts
