Coconut "Skin" - is it edible?

I tend to by the mature coconuts. The last one I picked sounded like it had a lot of water. I wasn’t sure it would have enough coconut meat, and it sure did. Best mature coconut so far! Well, they surely take a lot of work to get the meet out. I take it out with a small strong knife. When it comes off, there is this “skin”... between the shell and the coconut meat. I peel that off too. I was wondering if that is edible? I haven’t tried it… looks kind of fibrous though.

It is not really edible. It won’t kill you to digest a little of it but try to get as much peeled off as you can. It doesn’t taste good either.
