Hmm, well, you could try planting lots of milk thistle in your garden, cats hate milk thistle....

or so a gardening instructor once told me.

If you can't find the owner if the cat is a stray & if by chance it will come to you put it in a pet carrier and take it to the closest animal shelter most animal shelters have something you can put them in if after hours. I had same issue with my moms feeder she had it for many years & then someone decided to leave their cat roam outside or someone dropped it out . I'm not going to let a cat that doesn't belong here take away the enjoyment my mom gets from watching birds Because of a rogue cat .

Should we be interfering? Isn't that nature at work?

I Googled it. Hang bird feeder higher was one suggestion. A friend says Irish Spring soap. May try cyanne pepper around the base.

I agree with those who say that every cat should be supervised! It is their owners responsibility!

I have the same problem - cat killing birds in our yard - with our neighbor cat. I have posted messages on Facebook,

left messages on their doors, informed neighbors etc. We even tried to catch the cat who was at some point thrown out

by their owners (!) but to no success. A few days ago the cat killed ANOTHER bird in my yard and I am really fed up of this.

I left another message on their house door asking them to take this matter more seriously. I DO hope THIS time things start

changing for the better! The problem has been there ever since they took this cat...

And there are so many things cat owners can do to control this problem. Here is an excellent article about it https://www.tyrantfarms.com/5-ways-to-stop-your-cat-from-killing-birds-and-other-wildlife/

You may advise your neighbour to buy their cats a kittywalk. It's an enclosure that can be placed outside, so that the cats may still enjoy playing outdoors without the fear of them getting far enough in your yard to kill more birds.

Just kill them...cats are going to destroy all birds...no matter what you do
