Streaming to non-smart TVs

I’m trying to figure out a better way to watch movies from my iPhone on an old TV I have in the guest room. It’s not a smart TV, so no built-in apps or AirPlay, and I’d really prefer not to mess with HDMI adapters every time. I feel like I’ve seen people mention wireless options that don’t require buying a new TV, but I’m not sure what actually works smoothly. Has anyone here managed to stream movies over Wi-Fi without using any cables?

Yeah, I ran into the same problem at my parents’ place. Their TV is basically a relic, but it still works fine, so I didn’t want to replace it. What helped me was using Mirror iPhone presentations to TV — it connects through Wi-Fi and doesn’t rely on the TV being “smart.” I’ve used it to stream movies and even some longer YouTube videos, and the playback stayed pretty smooth as long as the Wi-Fi wasn’t overloaded. It’s way more convenient than digging around for adapters or carrying extra cables.

I know switch between different setups depending on what room they’re in and who else is using the connection. It usually comes down to whether the network can handle consistent streaming or if there are too many devices competing at once. I’ve noticed that older TVs paired with wireless tools can work surprisingly well when the environment is stable enough, so the experience varies a lot from house to house.
