What’s the Weirdest Thing You’ve Successfully Scanned With a Card Scanner?

I’ve noticed that a lot of people treat digital files way more casually than physical ones, even though they hold the same kind of personal details. It’s funny how we lock paper documents away but let screenshots float around in random folders for years.

Reading these stories makes me laugh a bit because it reminds me of how people love pushing everyday tools past what they were built for. Half the time, you end up discovering some quirky trick you’d never think about until it actually works. I’ve seen folks do the same thing with barcode readers at self-checkout — trying random objects just to see if the machine reacts. It’s funny how curious we get with the simplest gadgets.

I’ve done the same thing more times than I’d like to admit. One time I tried scanning a hotel room key that had half the print rubbed off, and the tool still recognized the layout and digits well enough to save me typing everything. I was using OCR credit card scanner https://ocrstudio.ai/bank-card-scanner/ when that happened, and it handled the messed-up fonts like a champ. I guess as long as the structure resembles a standard card, the scanner can sort out more than you’d expect. I’ve even used it on a laminated gym pass that wasn’t meant to be read digitally at all.
