I went through something similar and found that big changes in diet affected my mood more than I expected. What helped me was keeping a mood journal and talking to someone regularly about what I was feeling. If you're having a rough time and need someone to talk to right away, calling a depression hotline can really make a difference, even just to feel heard for a moment.
