Soaking Lentils

Hi, I’m a vegan trying out raw, and I’m wondering: do I have to sprout my lentils or can I just soak them overnight until they are soft? I just don’t think I can do the 3-4 day thing, at least not yet. Also, how do they taste? I tried some sprouted garbanzos that I bought from the farmer’s market, and they were so bitter, I ended up cooking them! Can anyone guide me into the mystifying world of sprouting?

I had an urge to make something like bean dip a couple days ago so I soaked some raw lentils in water and a little raw ACV. I had no idea that you could potentially cause stomach issues from eating raw lentils.  I had a bunch of my recipe before I decided to look it up. Some of these things on the Internet are there to scare you, others have some truth. My recipe was delicious, so I hope I don't have any issues!   After soaking the lentils for a day, I put them in my Vitamix with some water, lemon juice, raw honey, cumin, chili powder, fresh cilantro, and a little bit of salt. When I started to blend, it was a bit thick, so I added more water to get a creamy hummus like texture.  When I tasted the dip it was so good I couldn't help but eating more. Then that's when I recalled that many legumes can't be eaten raw, or people encounter difficulty in digestion.  I will monitor and make note if I has issues with the way I made this. So far so good!
