Um, one time when I was a non-raw vegan, I cooked beans on Sunday to last me all week. I cooked them thoroughly, mind you. After about five days, I took out the plastic container, and, well, what do you know, the beans sprouted. All of them. A mix of black, garbanzo, red, some other ones I don’t remember. Back then, I didn’t know what was happening and thought I shouldn’t eat them (I did anyway).

How in the world do fully cooked, softened, boiled, etc. beans sprout? According to us raw people, shouldn’t they NOT?

    You’re sure they were sprouting, not molding?? ;)

    I’ve had plenty of sprouting experience to know that the little tails growing out of the beans were not mold. Plus, I was definitely not sick afterwards.
