I feel guilty

I was just wondering how many of you have the occasional beer with some of your friends. I am new to eating mostly raw foods, however i had about three beers with my friends just hanging out. I am not saying that i need to be a certain percentage raw or else i flip out, its just that sometimes i like to have a couple of beers with my friends and right now i feel a little guilty. My friends still think i am completely nuts for not eating meat, i haven’t told them that i only eat raw natural whole foods. For instance today they offered me some pizza and i refused. After awhile i told them i was a vegetarian, and they began to ask so many questions like why would i do this, how do i live without meat, things like that. I was just wondering how many of you guys might have a beer or two with or without your friends. I do enjoy going out and drinking with my friends once in awhile, even though i know how detrimental drinking is to our health. Just wondering if any one else is in the same boat as me. Sorry it was so long

  • Thanks for the replys. I know i “folded” under the pressure i guess, and like you said lauraj i am right back on track trying to do the best i can to better my body. I posted that right when i got back home and was full of guilt, but you know what this is all part of the process in bettering myself. Thanks

  • I drink beer still, and whats great is it takes less beer to get drunk. :)

  • devittlesdevittles Raw Newbie

word weirdphonecian. i don’t drink beer, but i drink wine and sake.

  • I drink those as well :) Wine is truly my drink of choice, but when the occasion calls, beer me!

  • In my quest to transition to raw, I too was “worried” about what would happen if I was socializing with friends who (let’s face it) are my big eating/drinking buds. I am a pretty decent cook and people come to my house for 5-6 course meals. All of course while we are drinking (martinis/wine/liquers/homemade beers) SO—of course it will be weird at first, but since my gang is older (45 and over) they’ll probably just accept it as they accept all the other changes us old folks (ha) go through. I figure once they start to see the changes I am going through (and how magnificent I look and feel) and start eating all the great raw food I serve, they’ll be cool with it. They’re used to me being the first to try stuff anyway. (wink) Seriously, I think I’ll look into organic wine, just in case…..

  • I was wondering, where can i find organic wine. Because i would love to find it in a healthfood store or any local grocer as opposed to having to order it online. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and we do have a fair share of healthfood stores. Thanks, and i still will drink the occasional beer or five with my friends.
