  • The closest "raw" hummus recipe I found that contained chickpeas had the instructions, "boil water, take it off the stove, and put the chickpeas in it for a few minutes." That sounds like cooking to me.
  • I've been reading a bunch of recipes lately that use the pulp from juicing. I think it's a great way to use the whole fruit.
  • What brand(s) of fish oil are you looking at? Maybe we can figure it out.
  • Three cheers for watermelon!
  • It is mainly the omegas-3s that fish oil is high in, isn't it? I've always preferred flaxseed for that, but my other half seems to have some increased mental clarity from fish oil.
  • What other recipes are in there? If it has cannolis, it has to have some awesome treasures.
  • I like the stainless steel for the same reasons, Sarah, especially leaching plastic. There is enough of that in life already. I even have my giant 5 gallon water jugs in glass for the same reason (those were hard to come by).
  • I wish there were more info on this! I tried Googling it, but most of the results were about how black walnuts are used to get rid of parasites.

  • Awesome! I will never look at bean water the same again.
  • Thanks for the info :) I always wondered about the ones with the filters. They didn't seem to work as well either.

  • That's really informative, habeyp. Thanks for the info :)  Do you know if there is any real difference between the ear candles that have the little plastic filters in them and the ones that don't?

  • NamasteYa'll said: Wow, I just tried making a papya smoothie with spinach, peaches, papya, and the seeds of the papya! It looked beautiful. Then I tasted it and it was spicy. I knew it had to have been the seeds because I've used all those ingr…
  • Definitely keep us updated. It sounds like a wonderful improvement so far!
  • I love all of the choices that we are starting to have! :)

  • Interesting video. I always thought that sugar was the key thing to cut down on?
  • It can take time. I started with breakfast and snacks, and then worked my way up from there as I learned about more raw foods and recipes.
  • Hi, James. It's great to hear that it's working for you.
  • Hi, Stephan. Congrats on starting a new diet.  How is it going so far?
  • I wish I had some advice for you. I know that cutting out sugar helps, but I'm not really sure what to add to a diet that can produce fast results.
  • ^^ That is a valid point!! Get out the sweets recipes!
  • I've been thinking about it, and if you wash them off that will probably further reduce any cross-contaminants. After all, a clean peanut it just a peanut, right?
  • I guess it depends on what dad likes? Good topic! I hadn't even thought of what to make for Father's Day.
  • What does everyone think of oil based soaps? I have a olive oil one that doesn't seem to do too much damage.
  • You're welcome! Just remember, going towards a raw diet is about feeling good, not bad. :)
  • In a green smoothie would be my choice. Do you have the powder form of it?

  • :) They would probably be advertised as raw (although I think they can heat treat almonds and still label them as raw). If you can't find any locally, I know there are some available online.
  • I'm happy to hear that the mango worked out for smoothies! I'm not sure about what to use as a substitute in cookies, other than possibly a sweetened raw almond butter.
  • Hi and welcome, Lara! It's usually a long and gradual transition over to 100% raw. Many people just make raw a percentage of their diet, rather than the whole thing, so you're not alone. Have you tried any of the recipes that contain nuts? I find t…
  • Altering the fluff recipe is definitely worth a try. Thank you, Janace!
  • I was having that trouble for a while. I think it's fixed now :)
