  • Thank to all. JoyceH, I found a site for local farm shares and will check them out. I’ve been considering at least trying to cut down on products shipped from out of the California, Oregon, Washington area but what a challenge! I do have an orange t…
  • Thanks everyone for your support. It has been an interesting week here (wind storms, power outages, website strangeness) and we really missed our Gone Raw buddies. So happy to be back!

  • SocaL: We’ve been brainstorming ways to re-do our members page, as we have grown way beyond being able to show all of our members on one page! This type of sorting is interesting – perhaps we can fit it in!

  • There is more information (and links) at this discussion as well.
  • Hi kminty3, Do you have a masticating juicer (for example, we use the omega)? Unfortunately, you won’t get wheatgrass shots out of a centrifuge juicer.
  • Hi Nyuszi, Welcome to Gone Raw and thank you for the kind words. I’ve heard that Budapest is an amazing city!

  • Thank you, each of you, for your insight here. I just came back from a large family gathering and was having many of the same feelings as pianissima so eloquently described.
  • ecvraw: This is the first I have heard about enzymes dying in the freezing process and many raw food books encourage freezing. Where did you get this information?

  • Wow, sounds like you are quite busy, zrcarter. I’ve found myself moving from working at home (and dehydrating all the time) to mostly making food on the weekends. It has helped even to chop up a bunch of vegetables in a big tupperware and have a hom…
  • Last year, for Christmas, we managed to serve a completely vegan meal (except for the meat brought by a family member). I was really exited to see everyone using mushroom gravy and even raw cranberry sauce and salads. I love your idea about asking f…
  • Hi Nuttgirl: There shouldn’t be a limit to saved recipes. How many do you have saved about? What are you seeing? Also, what browser are you using? Thanks!
  • Hi Tiffany: Welcome to Gone Raw! How has this past month been? Any favorite recipes so far?
  • Congratulations, K-Mom and to our youngest member! What a lovely name.
  • Ray and I are in Portland, Oregon. So beautiful this time of year! (noon at pst)
  • radish_man: there was a discussion a while back about whether wine is raw or not. Hope this helps a bit!

  • I love this almond juliette recipe, which takes 4 cups of orange juice. And then, with the almond pulp, you could make almond orange cookies.

  • I like this easy curried carrot soup. It feels nice and warm. 123’s red pepper soup looks quite tasty as well. That is on my list of recipes to try!

  • Myself, I prefer celtic sea salt (this has been pointed out by a nutritionist as having more beneficial qualities than table or plain sea salt). However, I’m not entirely sure of the particulars.
  • Bluedolfin: Thanks for the idea. In the meantime, you can click on the title straight from the home page and get brought to that particular discussion right away. germin8: Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, by the time I checked, the brownie recipe …
  • curlysparkle: That sounds pretty normal – just be sure not to use/drink that water!

  • Morning_theft: Thank you for posting the rawcannabis link. Medical use of cannabis is legal (statewide) here in Oregon and I forwarded this information to a few cardholders.
  • Perhaps a cookbook? A couple of my favorite transition books (as they have both vegan and raw recipes) are: The Balanced Plate by Renee Loux and Vegan World Fusion Cuisine by Blossoming Lotus.
  • Here is a link to the text of the original Master Cleanse booklet by Stanley Burroughs. It is a good, quick read. Absolutely recommended before starting the cleanse, as it explains the all important steps of coming off the cleanse healthfully.

  • Julie: I would have the same reaction to drinking a bunch of orange juice (actually, any fruit juice other than a watery watermelon drink). I bet you’d feel much better with a green smoothie.
  • Hey Julie: If you get shaky before meals, it sounds like hypoglycemic symptoms (which I have). My nutritionist recommended the Master Cleanse as the one sort of fast that won’t give you such symptoms. I’ve tried it a few times and haven’t gotten sha…
  • Here is a link to a great workout recipe: frozen vanilla bliss.
  • Hi rawmama: For now, copy and paste is likely to be the way to go. We had so many complaints about pages and pages of comments that we’ve streamlined (and hopefully created a more environmentally conscious) printing process. At some point, we’ll lik…
  • Hi Renoir, Are you having difficulty with seeing the recipe both when logged in and logged out? When I click this link-, I see the recipe just fine. Is anyone else out there having difficulty with this recipe? I wonder if perhaps the problem could b…
  • There is a Yuzo Sunumono recipe on the site that has cucumber and wakame. It is just like the salad I used to get at our local sushi restaurant, but not sure if it is what you are looking for.
  • I started eating raw & vegan after years of being vegetarian. It felt like starting all over with the family as food is a big part of all of our events. Something that helped was just to ask what the family would be eating at a meal and then bri…
