  • writeeternity, I would venture to guess that the majority of problems you were having were from the soy, less likely it was the broccoli. It sounds like you have done your research though, so good for you! I have a website that has LOTS of studies a…
  • My period went from 5-7 days to 1-2 days after going raw. Little to no PMS, and very little cramping. I would check out the other thread on this forum about this topic as well,as a lot of women posted there.
  • Welcome Tim! So nice of you to join us! -Sunny
  • Welcome greenmachine! Good Luck on your raw journey!
  • Where was this when we moved from Monroe/Snohomish 3 years ago! I am so sad….I wish we still lived there. This is right up my alley!
  • Thanks! I may give it another try.
  • I have tried one recipe for rawsage that was from The Complete Book of Raw Foods, and it was HORRIBLE! I ended up throwing it away. I would love to try another recipe if you have one queenfluff. I think I will for sure try the mexi. layer dish, it s…
  • Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. It is going to be a little challenging, but I know once he has tried it for a week he will feel the benefits 3 fold. As for my 13 year old son, as my husband said…he will just have to deal with it. I kn…
  • Welcome! Keep us up to date on your raw smoothie weekend!
  • That is very interesting. I haven’t gotten that book yet, but it is next on my list! So- helping you think out loud- would that imply that eating comfrey and/or alfalfa once or twice a week would be enough to obtain the necessary B12? Does it matter…
  • It is actually the iodine, and it can prevent goiter which is a condition of the thyroid. However, you can get iodine from taking kelp. It is a natural therapy for hypothyroid.
  • I work from home as a pediatric occupational therapist, doula, childbirth educator, and reiki practitioner. This allows me and my husband (who also works from home) to take care of our children without daycare, etc. So, sometimes I have more time th…

  • If the caustic coating on the cashews can burn the person trying to get them out, how do the truly raw cashews get out of the shell, and then how do they get the caustic coating off so we don’t eat them? Anyone know? Yeah, Humanimal, I am so excited…
  • Very interesting. If that is the case it would be very nice, as I sure do miss my cashews! Has anyone tried to sprout (not just soak/germinate) ‘raw’ cashews? I would love to hear the results. I think I might try it!
  • Congratulations and welcome!

  • Sounds like detox to me. I went through something similar after I had been about 80% raw for 2-3 months. I still get occassional lightheadedness but am now back to 100% raw (yeah!). I noticed that since this has been happening, I have been craving m…

  • I have often wondered the same thing being from Arizona. In the summer it can easily get to 110 degrees or more. Does mean everything grown here is not raw? I have always thought that even if it is grown at over the “magic raw number”, if it is grow…
  • I could not agree more zenpawn. We need more choice and more decision making powers. Let the people who make bad choices suffer their own consequences. I shouldn’t be punished for other people’s poor choices and bad decisions.
  • Welcome!

  • yes I was thinking of that, as well as some other stuff I have read on other raw forums.
  • If you put them in the oven with just the light on, it would dry them out. Your oven can get up to about 90 degrees with just the light on, or so I have been told. Also, if your weather is nice, you could put them outside to dry in the sun maybe?
  • I have used a rebounder off and on for many years. They are great for exercise as well as increasing your immune system…and they are just plain fun! I have had a few different models ranging in price from $14 all the way to $50. In my opinion there …

  • This isn’t a raw book, but it really opened my eyes to all the chemicals in our food supply. Not sure of the author, but the name of the book is ‘Crazy Makers’
  • Does anyone know what happened to the Charlie’s Gym site? I went to view it today and it’s gone! I am so sad. I hadn’t gotten around to looking at it until today.
  • Thanks SocaL and barose for your input. I am really excited at the potential of being able to enjoy a walk or hike and do some body work along with raw to maintain my weight. To me, it just seems so much more natural! We weren’t born with elipticals…
