  • Bluejett8, I fully understand what you are saying. I am trying to get to a point in my life where all I have to do to maintain my weight is eat raw and take a nice walk with some yoga, pilates, or other form of weight/body work. Just this week I too…
  • Yeah! You guys certainly deserve it. The site is great!
  • If onions don’t agree with you, you may want to try wild chives. I have them in my garden and much prefer them to onions, personally.
  • mham, We moved here in Decemeber and LOVE it! It is wonderful winter weather (snow, snow, snow!) and perfect temps. in the spring & summer (70s and 80s). Sorry to hear it fell through. If you are thinking of coming again, let me know and maybe w…

  • You can order the salt from many on-line raw sources. I would just google it. I get mine from my local health food store/coop.

  • You can use himalayan sea salt in baths to detox. It’s a little pricier, but it works!

  • Maybe craigslist? Also, myspace has at least 3 raw food groups on it that you could post it on.
  • When I was having the beginning symptoms of my thyroid issues, I had nipple discharge. If it was me I would ask the dr. if you could get a blood panel before you agreed to the mammagram. If it is a hormonal imbalance and the bloodwork discovers it, …
  • Shambavi, I eat a TON even for 1200 calories, I think. I also burn about 750-1000 calories a day, so sometimes have to eat a little more to replenish. So, you are not the only one!
  • I use to aim for 1200 calories a day, but now I use intuition to guide me. I eat when I feel hungry, and don’t when I don’t feel hungry. This seems to be working for me well. deasmiles….I like your new picture! You look so happy!
  • I use dry brushing or an exfoliating cloth instead of soap. My skin looks clean, and I don’t have any body odor. I don’t use anything in my hair, just rinse with water.
  • I have inspired my husband to not use shampoo or soap any more…yeah! I had to show him the posts from this site, because he wasn’t that convinced with me not using shampoo since my hair is in dreads and he can’t really ‘see’ the difference as readil…
  • Good point Om, I forgot about the humidity. I was just thinking heat.
  • Om….I am a high altitude endurance athlete in Arizona…not using hygeine products is possible! But, you are right, you are probably experiencing detox.
  • I don’t use conditioner either. The only thing I put in my hair is some hemp balm every 3 months or so to keep the dreads a dreading…LOL!
  • I know that when some people “transition” to no shampoo, they will do a 1x week vinegar or salt rinse to keep the grease down. But, your hair does have to get greasy during the “detox” process to get all the toxins out. Then, you hair will find a na…
  • I have dreads in my hair, so I don’t know if I will be the best of help to you, but I don’t use shampoo more than one time a month. When I do use shampoo, I use an all natural lavender shampoo. The rest of the time, I just rinse with water. On anoth…
  • Thanks for the updated research Zoe. Did you mention to them that one of our super sleuths had been to the restaurant and that one of their employees said that it was cooked? They might want to do some better staff training! Well, if it is truly raw…

  • Thanks Jenny, I have tried the toddy method prior to raw and it was on my list to try with the raw coffee. I was just waiting to hear back from Socal before moving forward. Thanks for the great website link, it is one of the best I have seen on the …

  • Thanks for the report Socal. It doesn’t make much sense to sell non-raw coffee at a raw restaurant….so disappointing!

  • Thanks! I have tried that before, and I do like it…I had just forgotten about it. Always nice to get friendly reminders!

  • Thank you for your comments tlrosbach, I agree that happy marriage = happy life and kids for sure! Someday my husband and I will be happily raw, with a happy raw family, but until then, a little coffee now and then to show the love is not going to h…

  • Thanks so much for volunteering to find out what is really in the coffee SocaL. Let’s figure this out! It was hard for me to believe that he was offering coffee. Now looking at his menu, I would also like to know what kind of milk is he frothing for…

  • Thank you for letting us get to know you a little better, SocaL. The one thing I have always thought is a downfall to forums such as these that have people from all over the country/world is that it is hard to get the “feel” for someone without seei…

  • I have mixed ground coffee and ground cocao together many times and brewed it, and it is a nice combo. However, raw cocao would not be a “replacement” per se, as it is just replacing one caffeine/theobromine substance with another. But, as I said ea…

  • SocaL, not sure if Juliano uses real coffee or not. I have just heard it referenced thru-out the raw community as “raw coffee”. Maybe next time someone is at Juliano’s restaurant, they could ask. I have looked on line and have not been able to find …

  • Om…this weekend was the first time I had had coffee in 2 weeks, and it was really more “in the name of science”. I am trying to change our ritual to green smoothies, which has worked for the most part. But, I have to admit that it felt really good t…

  • Do they have these in the USA?
  • Have you tried using a support that is put in your shoes. You can buy them at most grocery stores, and there are even stores that just fit you for the inserts if you want to get a little pricier. That is my first thought. Also, if you can put one fo…
  • I am so glad that you checked out Storm’s info. He is very inspiring to me, and I am a woman! I think that he and his family are a testament to keeping it ‘simply raw’, meaning not worrying about all the details of various types of raw diets. If it …
