  • I have a not-so-good blender too, but I have found that if I just put the greens in first (I think spinach works great!...) with just a little water and blend that first BEFORE adding anything else, it does a better job and I am not chewing my green…
  • I live in Flagstaff Arizona, USA. I have heard rumors that there are other raw foodists in the area, but have not met any thus far. We do have an amazing natural market however where I can find most everything I need!
  • The Complete Book of Raw Food by: Baird & Rodwell is a great book to get started, and has a list of basic pantry items. Hope this helps!
  • rawmama, I did read the most recent version of Raw Kids last week. It was nice for me to review what I already new, as I have been helping the families that I work with do this for their children in one degree or another for many years. Don’t know w…
  • Hi rawmama! I guess you are right that the green smoothies must have helped. Also, he got really frustrated that we were all eating different things, at least that is what he said. But, I believe that the biggest impact was that I appealed to his lo…
  • diddiz, thanks for the support. My husband actually made the decision about 1-2 weeks ago to go mostly raw and bring the rest of our family along with him. It is a blessing for me to know that my family will be as healthy as I am. My husband did mos…
  • Thanks for all your suggestions! I have started to make my husband green smoothies that we share, and the other night he ate the raw taco meat and veggies on a regular tortilla, so that was a nice compromise. He said it was really good too! I think …
  • Oh my gosh Pam…Yes, I am so sorry that I forgot to post that I absolutely LOVED them. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
  • O.k….talked to the friend I got the start from. Unfortunately, she could not be of much help, as she got her start from a friend of hers that she has now lost touch with. So, the saga continues. I am going to contact some local nurseries here in AZ …

  • I have tried mesquite powder. I purchased it off the internet from a company that says it is raw…but you know how that goes. Anyway, to me, it smells and has the light taste of coconut! I have the book Rawvolultion and Matt Amsded (spell?) has two g…

  • I just wanted to clarify….Stevia is a natural herb, not an artificial sugar. I grow it right in my garden, and when a recipe calls for sweetener, I just grind up the leaves. It has been used in South America for centuries as a natural sweetener. Her…

  • Just signed up for ya too!
  • Congratulations, and don’t give up!! I get frustrated at times too, but all you can do is try your best. I agree with Ray, it is more important to be “as raw” as you can be than to get overwhelmed and return to a not so healthy diet. I have the book…
  • So, what can we use as a substitute for almonds?
  • I would LOVE to have that dehydrated cheddar cheese recipe…please do post!!
  • I have often wondered the same thing, rawgirl1976, as I too cannot give up my morning tea…it is quickly becoming the only non-raw item I consume. Any info. would be greatly appreciated!

  • I was wondering the same thing last week, so I “googled” it and found 2 different suppliers of coconut water that you can buy by the case over the internet. I will be ordering some next week or the week after depending on funds. I will let you know …
  • yep…it’s up now. Let me know how you like it after you try it!
  • Haven’t posted the recipe yet, but am planning to later as time allows…until then, one of my favorite snacks is zuchini chips: soak sliced zuchini in a mix of Namu Shoyu (soy sauce), lime juice, and water to cover the zuchini. Let “marinade” for 2 h…
  • Hey Zoe, I reiki my food too!
  • SocaL, I have been biting my tongue for a while now, but feel that I really need to say something to you directly. I really appreciate that you are trying to “enlighten” us on being raw. Any words of wisdom to help on my, or anyone’s, journey is alw…
  • Sometimes teeth hurting can be a sign of sinus problems. If you are just starting to do raw, your body could be detoxing and irritating your sinuses. If you feel this is the case, drink plenty of water to help flush the toxins. Keep us posted!

  • Yes I saw that episode, and yes, the mom started to add back some steamed veggies into her diet. I too was very disappointed in the episode because they made it come off like the meat-eating family “saved” the raw mom. I was absolutely disgusted whe…

  • Welcome Omshanti and Kirjo! Omshanti, Are you on my myspace group for reiki? I recognize the name, but your picture is different (if it is you…LOL!) A helpful thing for me to do when I went raw was to soak one dehydrator tray’s worth of almonds, wal…

  • Welcome jkvetter, thewreckoning, and Jenna. So nice to meet you! Blessings on your raw journey!
  • Hi, my name is Sunny. I am 30 years old and I live in Flagstaff, AZ. I would love to hear from others that are in the area! I have been about 80%-90% raw for about 9 months now. I have noticed that I feel a lot better (can use the eliptical now for …
