  • I would definitely check out some of the cookie and brownie recipes on here! And most of them you really don’t even need to dehydrate, just eat as is ;-) But of course for something less complicated, dates are the perfect cure for a sweet tooth! Som…
  • Coconut oil is my fav for fat. Never ever makes me feel sluggish. I have the same problem, nuts weigh me down and are way too heavy for me. I stick to oils and avo’s.
  • 6 bucks! Yeah sounds like a good deal to me!!! For how much, how big of a bag did you get?
  • I love my maca! I don’t use it regularly but when I do, I do notice the boost in energy as well as the upped sex drive. I usually put it into smoothies or puddings. I think it goes well with chocolate, or nutty flavors. Hope you enjoy it :-)
  • LOL!!!!!!! Great stories!!! :-)
  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm cookie dough… What the heck people, I’m trying to do my MC here and you gotta bring up cookie dough!!! ha ha! j/k

  • Great topic, I have the same problem! I actually used to love flying but it’s been years and every time I think of flying I just feel panicked. It’s the whole deal of being in closed quarters with lots of people, no control, motion sickness, the who…

  • I’m a little confused… I’ve read many times about the seeds being great for cleansing, but everything I’ve read said to chew or blend up the seeds rather than swallow them whole ???
  • I don’t like spam!
  • Kale ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
  • Yeah, as much as I LOVE bananas I feel so much better after eliminating them from my diet. Pears sound like a decent replacement though ;-)
  • I always keep my citrus peels! I throw them in the sink with the dishwater when washing dishes… I actually hate using the dishwasher cause it never completely cleans my dishes, plus it leaves those darn water spots. So anyway I throw them in the dis…
  • Woooohoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
  • It must be from soaking and then dehydrating the nuts back to their crunchyness that makes the purchased “truly raw” nut butters more stable. I can’t think of anything else on top of the sanitary issue mentioned by rawjim. I’m still wondering though…
  • Good question!
  • Ray I like the slideshow idea… that’d be neat, I like to view pics and then be able to click on them to see the recipe!
  • Awesome idea! I didn’t even think of using cauliflower as “popcorn”.
  • Yeah i agree, it’s the current topics that draws me in, along with the most recent recipes. So I would be all for making the current topics more “viewably friendly” by moving it near the top of the page (which ever side it ends up being on! LOL)
  • Well, I suppose you can start by telling him you get your energy from everything you eat! I’ve never felt “weighed down, heavy, or lehargic” from any raw meals that I’ve eaten period! And when he asks about complex carbs, I assume he is thinking abo…
  • Check out Ebay they usually have tons of used ones. Good luck!
  • Allergic or detox reaction to something that you are eating??? Or if I go too heavy on acidic/citrus fruits I can sometimes run into problems with my lips. Like if I drink too much citrus juice and I don’t make sure my lips are clean afterwards they…

  • All the natural health books I’ve read have all said that vaccines are a BIG no-no! I’ll have to get back to you on the details of it. One book went into detail about what kind of chain reaction the vaccines cause within the body… definitely somethi…
  • Depending on how and what you are eating, it is very likely that those problems could be due to very poor food combining. The more raw I’ve become and by being 100% I’ve really had to watch what I eat and what I eat it with. But I’ve naturally becom…
  • Well that’s kinda one of this big problems with a lot of the raw desserts… they seem to always combine nuts and fruit (whether it’s fresh fruit or dried), and well, nuts and sweet fruits together are a BIG no-no when it comes to food combining! So m…
  • Yeah, sometimes it can be a bit hard to judge. I haven’t had good experiences buying them ripe from the store. Usually they are already past their prime if they are already sitting at the store ripe. So I just buy the hard ones. Look them over good,…

  • I’ve noticed that all brands are different. I guess you just might have to experiment, or go by word of mouth. I’ve tried 3 brands, all 3 were totally different. One was super coconut-y, one had the very slightest bit of coconut flavor, and one was …

  • Eh, it depends on your recipe. The coconut oil is a lot less dense I guess you could say, where as an actual coconut “butter” will be a lot heavier and add more thickness (it’s kinda like a paste). Like for desserts and stuff you can easily use the …

  • Coconut oil is often refered to as “butter”, I don’t know why… BUT there is a brand called Artisana that does make a real “coconut butter”. It’s like a nice creamy coconut spread, very yummy. I often use it in dessert recipes.

  • Interesting Dan. Do you know what it is about the carbonation that causes this to happen??? I never drink the stuff but the other day it crossed my mind to make some sparkling lemonade. Eh, maybe I won’t even bother with it now.
  • I agree, you have not had a real tomato until you have had a home grown heirloom!!! Yes, the heirloom tomatoes available in the store are still worlds better than your standard tomato, but a home grown heirloom is beyond words ;-) I grew my first he…
