  • I would make pickles with the onions. Recently, a cookery programme was using this seasons asparagus dipped in soft boiled egg. I thought it was a good match to dip the spears into something gooey and soft like that. So, what about making a lovely c…
  • Yes, you get close to the jar bought stuff by not soaking like how Fee did it. If you just want a sesame tasting sauce, you can soak the seeds.

  • Yes, I found that himalayan sea salt really strong and really only needed a pinch now and then. I prefer celtic sea salt.

  • Hi there, I have added soaked oat groats into burger recipes and bread recipes just to add flavour. It’s not technically a raw food and is prone to mould, I believe, so I use it in small amounts. Sometimes I grind it up and use in cookies etc.
  • It’s fruit flies we have bother with in the summer. We have to meticulously tidy up everything and not leave out any fruit or juice on the board etc. We also just put up one of those sticky fly catchers as well.
  • Ah, just pop them in your smoothie like my partner does!! Mind, you, not sure about the red ones, never seen those.lol
  • Hi Bitt, sometimes it’s useful to make up something like a seed pate you can keep in the fridge to put on your salad the next day. If you just put some time aside when you aren’t hungry so that it’s there in the fridge. I find that very useful. You …

  • I think a warm climate really compliments being raw. My favourite weather is in the summer here (Scotland) when it has been raining and is also warm. Almost tropical, warm and moist, yeah, sounds good. I find the winters quite a challenge to stay wa…
  • Yeah, I love just to make salads but to blend up a creamy dressing which I can keep in the fridge for a few days. You can make it nice and thick and dip veggies into it. Also, I would make crackers with the dehydrator, I have a good flax recipe on m…
  • Oh, that’s interesting. I have never used raw rhubarb before, sounds like I should try a rhubarb crumble with custard.

  • zucchini pasta green smoothie (berries, banana, spinach) Dessert (fruit mousse) Soup (tomato, zucchini, nettles, avocado)
  • I find cacao nibs too hard to digest in that form. I like to blend the nibs into smoothies or make chocolate. For a quick treat, I used to put the nibs into a date and roll the date in coconut. Lovely.

  • A fruit pie is really easy and you can eat a slice whenever you are hungry as it is pretty filling. I posted an apricot one the other day, my partner ate the whole thing! www.rawlifestyle.co.uk
  • Hello, setting a little time aside to make some kind of dehydrated food will help and then the rest is easy if you have smoothies, salads and fruit. Make up some fruit/seed balls too as a filling sweet treat.
  • Hi, yes the seeds I’ve stated are the measurements before grinding and both flax and sunflower seeds are ground up. This is what helps the burgers to bind. Then, when processed with the rest of the ingredients I will form into burgers or balls and p…

  • You can marinate them in the fridge overnight in a salad dressing or sauce, this will really soften them and ‘cook’ them. Then they will be delicious to add to salads.
  • I use unpasteurised miso but I know not everyone is ok with this. The juice from soaked mushrooms with some kelp or sea salt added sounds like it would be like braggs.
  • I had a look at the ingredients the other day and it’s just nuts and dates really, sometimes a few spices and chocolate thrown it. I would use 1 cup fruit to every 1/2 cup of nuts and add cinnamon, coconut, chocolate for variety.
  • Don’t go anywhere without a packed lunch!
