  • Hi Liz, I use this method too and find they’re good to use the next day. I keep mine in the fridge and they seem to last a good month before the water goes a bit cloudy and then I start again. Or, if you eat your pickles quickly like in a week you c…

  • Hi rawkid and germin8. I also like funky raw magazine, also UK based.
  • Yes, I think if you blend a cup of soaked flax seed with 1/2 avocado, they make great tortillas.

  • I’ve just sprouted and dried spelt grain which I’m going to make sourdough bread with. I’ll post to let you know how it goes.
  • Thank you grassdude, I hope you have lots of fun with it. I have another book coming out shortly.
  • What recipe are you using. I make bread in about 2 hours.
  • Hello, yes I have read it. It’s much to do with getting the right ratio of carbs, proteins and fats at every meal. It was sometime ago I read it so I can’t remember much more than that. I think the omega oils are very important for helping optimal b…
  • I think if you overdid psyllium you might get constipated but I only ever need to use about a teaspoon.
  • i used to make jellies using soaked kombu which worked well and I use psyllium alot to thicken up puddings and desserts.
  • 1 small cup strawberries, 1 pear, 1 banana, 2 tsp cacao powder, pinch sea salt I blend this so I can drink it out of a glass. I might also add a tsp of ground seeds to make it creamier.
  • If you’ve got a cool bag use that. Also, making sure the dehydrated food is completely dry will keep longer. Sweet things tend to do better than savoury in my experience. Happy travelling!
  • Hi Kelly, yes sometimes if you keep craving more and more carbs you’re likely not getting enough protein. Try having a green smoothie with some spirulina in it and you could add some hemp protein powder in there too if you like. It’s important to ge…

  • Hi Moth, using straight cacao powder is really strong and you don’t need that much to get a nice chocolate flavour. I find about a tablespoon does in most cases and if you mix it with fat like in a nut milk, the fat slows down the rush.
  • Crikey, there must be loads of great recipes on this site if you do a search for the type of foods you are looking for.
  • I make cheesecake base with buckwheaties and coconut or seeds.
  • Make lots of smoothies for the kids. Take them on wild food walks to collect lots of green edibles like nettles, dandelions etc. Use mainly sunflower and pumpkin seeds as they are cheaper than nuts. Eat seasonal produce. Pick cheaper fruits like app…

  • If you check out my goji cacao buns (posting today), they have carrots in them, instead use your pulp. www.rawlifestyle.co.uk
  • I think keeping it simple for kids is best and giving them what they enjoy. Nice not too green coloured smoothies and soups and buckwheat bread with raw veggies sliced really thinly.
  • Hi Moth, if it was me I think I would have some green juice to soothe and cool the inflammation if it’s hot feeling. Also, if you’ve got any aloe juice, that would help. Drink lots of water too until it passes.
  • Think simple and soothing. Plenty of fluids, rest and things like soup and smoothies. Chamomile tea and pau d’arco. I would also use garlic and turmeric in my veggie meals. I had this once, I know how uncomfortable it can be, it can also take a few …
  • Some seaweeds aren’t raw, hijiki for example is cooked at high temperatures. And of course, some nori is roasted. Not sure about agar, I use psyllium for a similar effect in my recipes.

  • Yes, that sounds very imaginative. It sounds like you want to create a kind of bouillon? I have made nice thin soups using 1tsp miso 2 tomatoes You could try blending them into your green tea recipe. I also use apple cider vinegar for sourness. Let…
  • Hello, no you don’t have to soak at all. Just finely grate or use a saladacco which makes nice noodles. Zucchinis are high in water so you even have to squeeze the noodles after using a saladacco. There are lots of nice marinara recipes on this site…

  • Ooh, that is hard isn’t it. Taking in all those bbq smells and being the healthy one. I would defo make some burgers (not to fry of course) and a good avocado salad.

  • I don’t advise fasting to lose weight, it slows your metabolism and you are likely to make up for lost time when you go back to eating. Instead, why don’t you devise yourself a meal plan and just stick to it. Drink water in between your meals and do…
  • It’s true that eating contaminated raw food makes you susceptible to parasites. It’s good to be organic when you can and to wash other produce. Taking biotics and using garlic, ginger, onions and cayenne in the diet is a good safeguard against these…
