  • I don’t take that many green smoothies. When I first went raw I really craved them but after 6 years I’m fairly alkaline and I don’t desire them that much. I prefer to eat my greens in a salad or soup. However, recently I’ve been taking smoothies ag…
  • Actually I made up the mc drink using lemon juice, ginger, cayenne and some a tsp of yacon syrup. It is a lovely syrup, rich in minerals and all raw.

  • thanks alix, I wondered why it was used on the master cleanse like it was healthy or something. I suppose it’s better than sugar.

  • Hello, I was macro for about 2 years before I switched over to raw foods. I liked the idea of not eating from extreme food groups and becoming more yang. I did quite well on it but lost alot of weight and then got bloated and depressed. We were foll…
  • Vegetable soups, smoothies, fruit pies.
  • Hi newbie, I have an infrared sauna and used it this morning. Being a windy wet and cold day, it was fantastic to feel the suns energy penetrating my body right through. It is a great aid to decongesting the liver and generally healing for almost an…
  • I’d love to go to one of his talks, he’s rarely in the UK.
  • My advice would be to take your time, there’s no rush. Just add in more and more healthy food choices and keep in contact with the raw forums for support.
  • I’m doing coffe enemas just now for a few days because I am just off a liver cleanse and it is part of the treatment. However, I will stop after that. It’s always good to do a series of colonics or enemas and then stop for a while.
  • I find avocados too oily and fatty in the winter. Ground seeds are good for me and dressings made from soaked seeds blended up. Generally, for me, fat intake is less in the winter months because my digestion slows down.
  • Hello everyone there, I too am raw in Scotland. I have started a group at http://www.giveittomeraw.com/groups/rawinscotland I heard about the cafe in Edinburgh, I think the website is www.red-sugar.co.uk for information about it. It’s so good to ha…

  • Well done for taking the decision to eat living food. You will find lots of recipes on this site, if you type in ‘salad’ or ‘cookies’ you will get a list of relevant recipes. Start by having fresh fruit for breakfast or a smoothie. For a main course…

  • Are you exercising?
  • When eating a warming raw diet it’s a good idea to think how you would eat if you were cooked in the winter but adapt it your raw diet. So, you may have lots of spicy soup and bread, I used to love butternut squash/tomato soup. Also, crackers and sp…
  • Hi Karen, eating the right raw diet for your constition will balance your yin and yang. Basically, yang is fire, contracting energy, yin is cooling and expansive. A raw diet is naturally more yin but if you want to make it more yang, doing it in a m…
  • Hi Revraw, cacao is a stimulant and has caffeine in it. I have found if I take too much cacao I can get wheezy and anxiety symptoms. Best to use it as a treat now and then.
  • Hello, when I started taking natures biotics which I believe is similar to primal defense, my digestion and bowel movements improved dramatically. I think a raw blended diet is very good for those with digestive issues. I have also found apple cider…
  • It depends on if you want a low sweet smoothie or a soup. I used to make low sweet smoothies using lemon, berries and perhaps pear, adding in some greens and a pinch of salt. A little cacao works well too as it is quite a bitter flavour. Instead of …
  • I didn’t know you could get red maca! My partner puts it in his smoothies and cookies before working out. I have found it to increase libido, if you know what I mean!

  • Hi rawmama, let me know how the dish turns out. It’s put me in the mood to get some eggplant this shopping and make a nice stew. I love coming here too!
  • Hello rawmama, you got some good advice there. Soaking just makes the eggplant softer, you can get good results if its then marinated in a tomato sauce and left overnight before putting in the dehydrater. It’s a bit of preparation but this vegetable…
  • Fantastic news. I’ve been reading about Jinjees raw pregnancies at www.the gardendiet.com
  • Hello natatatt When I was doing the anti=candida diet of Dr Cousens, I made buckwheaties which is soaked and sprouted buckwheat, then dried. It is good with almond milk and goji berries in the morning. Sometimes I would process the buckwheat after …
  • Hi everyone, thanks for giving so much feedback on this topic I started a while back. My raw food recipe book ‘Raw Menu’ is almost complete and I have written another short one on ‘Quick Lunch Recipes’. Most of my recipes are low fat, the menu boo…
  • I love all these pretty pictures people use here for themselves. Northern lights, that is a good idea, why don’t you do a book like that? Thank you all for your suggestions, I’ll be doing quite a few follow-up books, possibly focussing on specific p…
  • Hi Joyce, here in Scotland I rarely come across young coconut. I have tasted it and don’t like it so it won’t be popping up in any of my recipes. I like to make food with ingredients that most people can access anywhere in the world.
  • This is great, keep your wishes coming. I always focus on low fat recipes so that is good. I rarely use nuts and substitute with seeds which are lower in fat and some sprouted grain. I try to make food that is about 80% fruit and vegetable. I don’t …
  • Hello, check out my ‘cheesy pie’ recipe. It reminded me alot of quiche, just add spinanch and your favourite veggies.

  • Hi Lyn, I made this a while ago, it’s one of my favourites too. I normally blend lots of different fruits, layer it up and then add a nut cream (pine nuts work well) for the topping.
  • lol Greenie! it’s really interesting, thank you. Maybe it’s because Brits love their puddings so much they invented a spoon especially so they could eat big mouthfuls ie the dessertspoon!!
