  • Thank you for all your help. It seems the dessertspoon is what you’re not familiar with. I will use teaspoon and tablespoon to keep it simple. They’re close enough for my recipes but I will mention about UK and US differences somewhere. Incidentally…
  • Hi Moth, if you need to thicken a recipe you can use psyllium husk. Otherwise, ground pumpkins and sunflowers are good. It may be that the flax is too fatty for you. By using other seeds instead that are higher in protein than in fat you might feel …
  • Hello Dave and welcome. I feel eating raw food has changed my inner self so much and helps me to be more present. I really feel joy inside when I watch the little birds we have that come to feed and entertain us every day. Raw food has had a powerfu…
  • Hi Carob, I find aubergine (eggplant) quite a good substitute. You need to soak thin slices overnight in slightly salted water. Then you can make a tomato sauce and mix with the eggplant. Put in the dryer for about 2-3 hours on 145 until they go sof…
  • Hi, once I’ve made the basic milk I put it back in the blender and add a banana, some vanilla, carob powder and anything else I fancy to make a nice tasty milk.

  • Hi Lucy, I tried the lemon oil drink in the morning and I think I got a kind of mini flush. Had some discomfort too. I find I am much better not taking the oil at all until I do the main cleanse with epsoms to ease things. It really works though if …
  • Hey bluedolfin, just skipping the cacao butter stuff, I’ll still probably be dipping my bananas into the powder!!
  • Incidently, I’m prepping now for a flush next Monday. Eating pretty normally except adding in the odd glass of acv in warm water. Need to lay off the raw chocolate though as I find it pretty clogging!
  • Hi Lucy, thanks for the tip. I would have thought that taking oil everyday beforehand would spoil the potency of the flush??
  • Popular subject after xmas!! Um, the first flush I did a colonic afterwards and nothing much came out. I find that on the 2nd day the body gets rid of most of the debris. Being raw for 6 years I have done colonics and enemas alot. When i do the live…
  • Hi Lucy, mango. I’m also following the Moritz method. I’ve done 6 so far. The 3rd one was when I actually saw some stones but haven’t seem much since. Next one in a week or two.
  • I halved my sprouts and put salt and lemon juice on them to soak overnight which would help ‘cook’ them a little. I’ve yet to put them in the dehydrator to see what happens. I actually miss cooked brussels.

  • Sounds great. It’s so good to go to family and be catered for!
  • I made trifle to begin with and ate half of that. Then I had kale and watercress leaves that I marinated in a tomato sauce overnight. The rest of the day I nibbled on coconut cookies I had made and then had pizza as my main food. One apple. A few fl…
  • Here in the UK, I get thongweed (sea spaghetti), it sounds like the same thing as kelp noodles. It is such fun to mix with zucchini spaghetti and make a nice creamy sauce to mix through.
  • Yes, it’s really interesting as the two Drs have such different approaches to eating raw. I was doing the doug diet when I first started raw and lost so much weight as I wasn’t getting enough protein and fat. Then I went the other direction and foll…
  • I think if I were travelling I would get fresh fruit where available and salads. I would take a blue green algae or spirulina powder that I can add to food. And I would make up dehydrated veggies before i left that I could add warm water to for soup…

  • I use my dehydrator nearly every day in the winter for warming food, making cookies and crackers/breads etc. But then I live in a cool damp climate (west of scotland) If you live in a warm sunny climate you don’t really need to dehydrate your food t…
  • Hello Lollypolly, nice to meet you! How are you? That’s great to know about the raw cafe, raw food is spreading surely. Do you have raw potlucks?
  • Hello again, yes I went to living foods and put up a post but so far no word. Thanks for the link though. I used to use that site alot and its reminded me how good it is.
  • Janka, I’m curious, is the other raw person on this site? I will likely be doing a raw kitchen workshop in the Spring so will no doubt meet some raw buddies!!
  • Zoe, if you contact the fresh network, they will be able to help. I’m sure there used to be a group in the Manchester area. As I was searching I found this http://www.mymanchester.org/manchester/fe-healt… which may be helpful.
  • Hi Zoe, Philip came from Manchester and his parents run Manchester Fresh I think. Yes, he went to the tree and became one of the managers. Janka, nice to know you, how is it up there in Aberdeen, I’m just outside Glasgow. Are you all raw? Aberdeen c…
  • Thanks Zoe, it’s nice you meet you both. Do you know Philip Madeley and famil? I know they live in manchester and host raw food events. I missed Gabriel Cousens visit. Also, thank you for the link, i will go there.
  • Before my last period and now coming up to the next one, I had also had quite tender and enlarged breasts. I don’t normally have this. I think it’s related to the change in my diet since changing over to winter and eating more seeds.

  • I don’t like green smoothies in the winter but I like making garlic kale crunchies (dehydrated kale with a little oil and garlic). Otherwise, I tend to have veggie soups and lots of cookies and flax crackers. Sweets made using coconut and sesame see…
  • It sure is more challenging, it’s only 7 degrees here in Scotland. I like to make spicy soups and make them as hot as I can without being damaging. Also using cayenne and chilli powder, lots of garlic and onions. Having breads on hand is good too an…
  • For breakfast warmed apple stew and chocolate cream over it. Lunch, flax crackers and a veggie dip with avocado in it. Snack: slice bananas with a sweetie mixture I made up on it. Dinner: cabbage with garlic oil and onion bread and tomatoes.

  • Interesting recipe, made it last night. Sliced the onions thinly with magimix and had to add a little extra water. Used miso broth instead of shoyu. Onions, onions everywhere, it was good. I also blanched the onions in hot water before using to soft…
  • Gosh, it must be warm where you all are. Here in Scotland, I couldn’t contemplate fasting in these temperatures 7degrees. But good luck to you all.
