  • YUM caramel sauce! i think it is also delicious with some fat in there… like flax oil, almond butter or tahini… caramel wants fat…
  • that’s a good idea. don’t strain the date syrup though… that is NOT a good idea ;)
  • you make date syrup by blending dates with water. you can scrap out the inside of the vanilla bean, and then you don’t have to use the whole one. you can also buy vanilla powder.
  • i have had some similar issues, though probably less severe. i was an anorexic preteen, which set the stage for a lifetime of strange eating habits. for the most part i am just totally obsessed with food. in recent years it’s been healthy food, whic…
  • i think buckwheat and millet are seeds, and kamut is a grain, but i’m not sure at all. but i kind of think they all have grain like properties, which is what matters when you’re food combining. try the combo you want, then see how it makes you feel,…
  • yes, fermented foods contain probiotics and yes they are great for your health, and do restore intestinal flora. they also contain b12.
  • i wasn’t offended luna blu. i don’t know you, but i do like you! i’ve seen enough of your posts to know you’re not a nasty creep of any variety. anyway, my sisters are both moms of two with jobs, and sometimes their husbands act like their third chi…
  • i would never give someone unsolicited advice about their diet. however, i get very irritated when people tell me that my diet isn’t healthy, when they just ate a giant plate of fried noodles and beef glazed with sugar. then this person tells me i s…
  • i don’t much care for sprouted grains, except buckwheat, and only as part of a recipe. and i find sprouted beans completely nauseating and would never recommend them to anyone. raw vegans definitely don’t follow the food pyramid. most raw foodists a…
  • yes i did get tired. you’re making big changes, give your body the rest it needs to get used to them.
  • parsley! i like italian parsley, but curly parsley is good too. and so delicious! i also like kale and spinach, and try to sometimes eat spicier, more bitter greens like dandelion and mustard, but i don’t like them as much. collards and romaine are …

  • no, no problem. just thought i’d post it in case other people were getting excited… i think maybe if you like in the UK, or wherever the raw reform store is based, it might be a good deal. i do recommend it though! soooo tasty and addictive!
  • shipping charges were outrageous… bummer…
  • thanks for that info libbyb! i heart artisana coconut butter!
  • so, there’s often confusion about what is coconut oil and what is coconut butter. people often refer to coconut oil as coconut butter. however, artisana (an awesome company) has recently come out with a product called coconut butter, which is actual…
  • more olive oil.
  • i’m pretty new to raw too, i didn’t mena for my last post to come off preachy or like i am 100% raw 100% of the time… but i would say good beginner type recipes are a good bread recipe (like the onion bread) is crucial, because if you put avocado on…
  • you need like ten recipes. 10 recipes is enough to live on. i love massaged kale salad, nori wraps, fruit smoothies (no vegetables in my smoothies! sometimes i’ll put a little spirulina) marinated veggies, dehydrated buckwheat breads, nut cheese &am…
  • i heard somewhere (it might have been in the juiceman book) that they are toxic? i wonder about this though. i would like to know definitevly, if anyone knows.
  • i don’t see why rice protein would be unacceptable to mention. hemp protein isn’t a whole food either, but if you eat oil in other situations, you might as well eat the protein, which is just the by product of pressing the oil. and actually, it’s go…
  • hemp protein! super high protein, great source, highly recommend it. it’s not delicious though, so mix it into a delicious smoothie. i like to use raw power, which is a mix of hemp & brazil nut protein, because it’s a little more delicious (alth…
  • i just cut them and eat them mostly. but they are also excellent in smoothies and soups. they make the bestest chocolate milkshake and mousse!

  • dagnytaggart—what classes do you like? i live in SF too. i know you might not feel comfortable publicly posting where you go on a regular basis, but i’m just curious what your experiences have been. i tried global yoga, and although i loved it, neve…
  • so i don’t work with the food exactly, but i do work in a conference center where there is free food every day for lunch. it’s not very delicious, but it still manages to tempt me. grr, evil sterno cuisine…
  • i’m sure there are people from the UK. i know zoe is, and i’m sure there were others. personally i live in san francisco, so i won’t make it, but like lived in london for 3 months in 1997. it was great, i’d love to go back for a visit.
  • when i first started, i needed lots of dense foods like bananas, larabars & nuts. i also ate big salads for dinner and smoothies for breakfast most days. i found that whenever i craved anything, i could just eat a banana, and it mostly went away…
