  • I recently discovered that you can actually eat raw cranberries and that they are a wonderful source of antioxidants, even more than blueberries! If you like the tart flavor of cranberries, this is for you. half cup mangoes one and a half cup of ber…
  • Just to clarify, when you guys are talking about 'juice fast' are you talking about juice made in a blender or in a juicer? It seems to me that there is a big difference between the two, and I am not sure which one is better for cleaning/healing pur…
  • A great recipe is equal parts of basil and parsley, garlic and olive oil. blend well. Whole Foods carries a pesto with this mix, but I don't think it's raw.
  • I have grown more modest vegetables, such as lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, chard, spinash, radishes and some herbs, in regular plastic containers. My profile picture has the first harvest of the past season. I got that container full every three to fo…
  • Thank you so much for all your commments. I would love to make my own tahini, do you need a high speed blender? I don't have one...
  • luluska, that sounds delicious!
  • I forgot to mention the golden sweetner of them all: Dates, and date "juice". These give you more sweetness than any other thing could. Again, a whole food whith all the minerals and the good stuff in them. :0]
  • Just a clarification for the newbies. It is possible to be raw and not to depend on any sweetners at all. You can use pinapple, orange, and bananas if you feel that you need the the extra kick of the sugar. For example, when I have granola for break…
  • Daniefon, your recipes are really great! I can't wait for your posting.
  • I think is wonderful that Ray and Kandance are willing to volunteer their time to put this together and keep it going. I am sure they could be doing something else instead, but I am so thakful of what they do in this site! Thank you so much Kandance…
  • My favorite one is juicing a couple of celery stalks, carrots, half a cucumber, one apple, and an inch of ginger. Sometimes I add half a beet as well. Put that in the blender with a handful of spinash (or other greens of your preference), parsley, w…
  • Personaly, I don't like tap water because it has: - fluoride (which by the way is a by-product from the aluminium process, for more info on this check processhttp://www.mercola.com/article/links/fluoride_links.htm) - All sorts of medical residues su…
  • Orangutan, I am not sure what dehydrator you are using, but I think that the normal tray is the one that has some kind of holes in it. If you are using Excalibur, it would be the plastic white meshy one. The change is because the air circulates bett…
  • Make some awesome granola! is the best snack, breakfast dinner...especially with the nana milk from this site.

  • Hi ariadne. I would say ‘take it easy’. The fastest you go down, more laxity and strech marks you will notice. This is not a problem only for obese people, once when I was sick I lost a lot of weight in one week, and got lots of strech marks that we…

  • jessca, don’t suffer too much over eating a piece of cake once in a while; I am sure that it is part of your raw journey and I assure you, it is not going to kill you (so stop gagging! =),unless you eat cake every day, of course. I have had the same…
  • Could he be having a omega 3 deficiency? Omega 3s help the cells to ‘breathe’ and to move things around (detox-feed). It is also needed for a healthy immune system. Even if he is currently consuming some form of this fatty acid, the fact that omega …
  • Mmmm, I am not sure about eating nuts causing your child to be allergic to them. littlegems. I didn’t eat a single nut during my pregnancies (Where I come from, nuts are hardly ever used in food) and my daughter is VERY allergic to all nuts and and …
  • Hi tbone. You may want to check if your wife has some kind of absortion problem. If that’s the case, you will probably see some vitamin/mineral deficiencies in the blood test results. She should also be checked for parasites or a thyroid problem per…
  • rawbryan, cashews have mycotoxins?? I didn’t know! Do you have more info about that? I would love to read more. Thanks.
  • Tomsmom, your comments are hilarious! thanks for the laugh. :) rawbryan, I hardly eat dates, however is not only the sugar that I feel compeled to; it is also the taste and the substance of it, without mentioning their mineral content (calcium, magn…
  • jenoz, I am short too! lol. Thanks for the info. That tomato soup you are talking about, is anywhere in this site? sound very yummy :)
  • Thanks 1sweetpea. I also have a regular blender, but I can’t use it for blending whole green leaves (except for spinash and cilantro). Also the possibility of making my own seed butter is very apealing, but as I said, I would like to make sure that …
  • Thank you jenoz, that wasn’t really well explained in the Vitamix site. Do you like your Blendec?
  • Oh gosh, yes, I wonder the same thing jenoz, but your questions are more interesting! As I said in one of my post before, I have problems digesting dehydrated foods, not as much with nuts and seeds, but a lot with dehydrated vegetables. I think that…
  • I agree with the others, the process is usually industrial and non-raw. You could also ask the customer service of your health store about this. Have them contact the provider if necessary, or get the provider’s contact info. Good luck.
  • No-nut whipped cream: One cup of coconut milk - 2 medjol dates (soaked) - 1/4 cup of pinaple, in chunks - vanilla to taste Peel the dates with your fingers. Put everything in the blender until soft. If not using pinapple, add more dates to taste. Yo…

  • I have done what 1sweetpea describes, and the key is to dehydrate the nuts until they are very very dried. Then grind in coffe rinder and voila, you end up with nut flour.

  • EasyCheeta, no worries, I’m glad to hear that you are not like that. I am a believer that is in the best interest of humankind to help each other and try to make our society a better place to leave, for the low paid and the 200K+ paid. :)
  • Yes JoyceH. Cheeta’s post also rubed me wrong because I feel that it is somewhat disrespectful not to acknowledge the hard work that many low paid people do every day.
