  • Make yourself some apple/celery juice for afterwards. You'll need to replace your sodium and electrolytes. Also plan on taking a bit of a nap after, they are tiring.
  • they rock fyi- my friend gave me a set of 2 for my bday- theyre nice and fat so theyre awesome for smoothies. Put them on your christmas wishlist guys!
  • My impression of supplements/superfoods/herbs and so forth is that they're most beneficial to people trying to heal themselves of deficiencies or disease. And that the cleaner your diet is, and the longer you're raw you're need for anything beyond w…
  • i love cabbage too! purple cabbage is supposed to have all kinds of cancer fighting nutrients in it too. Although Ive been told to not bring cabbage dishes in for lunch at work anymore. Apparently people don't appreciate the smell.

  • 31 days today! I seem to throw greens in almost all my juices. But i do make a cucumber melon (equal parts of cantelope and watermelon with 1-2 cucumbers) one thats lovely in the morning. You will pee a lot- just seems to come with the territory. I …
  • so true danifon- it takes a lot more bulk to get your calories- i think dr d gave the example of 55 heads of lettuce to equal a couple slices of pizza. keep on keepin' on catbird- sometimes starting out has weird effects, but the good stuff lays ahe…
  • I personally have more trouble with nuts too. They are harder on my tummy, plus they're super expensive. Sunflower seeds work really well as a nut substitute too. I love flax and chia b/c they really help to regulate your digestive tract. Some of th…

  • hey trouble- that seems really cool about the barefoot racing. do you train on pavement or soft ground. i run around barefoot all the time, never thought about doing it for actual training though. Can you give out some sources?
  • You need to up your juice intake if you're running while juicing. I did a 5k on the 14th day of juicing. Get yourself some high calorie juices before going (orange juice works well if you can handle the acid, its very high in calories and protein). …
  • this could be a detox effect, esp since they are pussing. Your body could be working through some old nasty stuff. Just keep your skin clean and hydrated. I personally always have a breakout after a colon hydrotherapy session. I think its just all t…

  • vitamineral green- hands down. but thats my preference. Ive also tried Mega-Green (i think thats what it was). And i keep going back to my vitamineral. Try vitamineral earth too- it makes a really good maranade if you mix it with a bit of olive oil,…
  • i totally agree with annalea- for sweetening anything i use stevia, bananas, raisins or dates. turbinado sugar isnt raw. if you want a closer sugar taste, dry some dates and grind them up- that will give you a raw date sugar.
  • I became vegan for health reasons. I was very sick, the docs couldn't or wouldn't do anything for me so I read everything on nutrition i could get my hands on and here I am. I grew up in rural country, so our family actually butchered our own meat. …
  • green smoothies and lots of them! They take away your cravings for sweets and other things. Greens will help the stomach acid problem too. You may want to start adding digestive enzymes. I used to have a lot of stomach problems and enzymes are amazi…

  • Do a breakfast, lunch and dinner green smoothie for breakfast a nut pate for lunch (serve it on romaine leaves with veggies and make lettuce cups) and maybe a zucchini pasta with marinara for dinner.
  • try some green fruit juices. Theyll be high in calories and nutrients, without the fiber to fill you up. Dates, nuts and bananas are all high calorie, so maybe try sprinkling some nuts on your salad to add calories that way too.
  • yeah my nose still runs, but its very thin and clear- not thick grossness. I don't get stuffy anymore though so i know nothings getting clogged up.
