  • in a pinch, you can use panty hose :) I use a nutmilk bad, you can use cheese clothe as well. I’ve heard of people also using a paint strainer from home depot or lowes.
  • I am nursing and recently transitioned to raw. I’m not 100%, but I used the same logic that others suggest. I have had some detoxing symptoms, but have not noticed anything out of the ordinary in my son (22 months). He is, however, making a smoother…

  • 1.5 cups of water to 1 cup of flaxseed makes them perfect. Soak overnight and in the morning you should be able to flip the container up-side-down without more than a jiggle from the seeds.
  • Process the cabbage, add some salt, just to make it juicy, and put some sort or weight on it. The goal is that the liquid rises above the cabbage. Let it sit for 1-10 days, depending on your tastes. Then refridgerate and it lasts for weeks.

  • My son is twenty-two months and he get the majority of his nutrition through me. He enjoys eating apples, frozen banana ‘ice cream’, and raisins, and occasionally tries whatever I’m eating. I am mostly raw and he is thriving. Plus I am quite sure it…
  • Anything that calls for ground flax you could use the almond flour. There is a cinnamon roll recipe on here somewhere that also calls for almond flour.
  • I have a vitamix and it is well worth the cost. I use it several times a day. You can use it for so much more than a regular blender because it is so powerful. Typically, it blends things in less than 20 seconds and doesn’t warm it at all. The only …
  • I would soak in clean water and then add the probiotic during blending.
  • No raw in KC yet, except for a 1/8th an aisle at whole foods :) I’m opening a restaurant in the fall/winter though!
  • I am in a group called raw food vegans. There are 233 members. Just FYI. I will also join your group.

  • I don’t buy pre-made stuff online, but lots of things are worth it because you just can’t find everything in a grocerie store! Like many threads have been discussing, lots of things labeled raw, aren’t really, and other things you can’t even find la…
  • Sorry to disappoint, but that article is a hoax. John Hopkins’ website has a statement. “HEADLINE: Email Hoax Regarding Cancer Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center Office of Public Affairs March 2007 EMAIL HOAX REGARDING CANCER An email falsely attrib…

  • I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve not personally met any other raws, but on meetup.com there is a potluck group with around a hundred members for the whole Kansas City metro area which includes both Missouri and Kansas. I haven’t personally met …
  • I occassionally eat sushi grade raw fish. I also have found raw milk to be extremely beneficial and consider it to be a living food.
  • I’ve only found durian at an asian market, it was frozen. I did not enjoy it, but I’d like to find a fresh one to try out.
  • Buckwheat: I have much better luck sprouting buckwheat in a sprout bag so it gets more ventilation. Everything else I sprout in jars.
