  • I worked all Christmas eve (all afternoon and evening) and day. So no real Christmas dinner pour moi. But I really don’t feel too bad about that. Matt went to his mom’s for those days and pigged out on a lot of junk his stomach doesn’t appreciate hi…
  • Personally, I like juice better. I used to only do smoothies but with certain greens such as kale I found that I couldn’t digest them well and they made me bloat. With kale juice I can stomach it much better. Also, celery for one doesn’t blend well,…
  • I personally find kale juice very easy to get down (and energising) when mixed with young coconut water…
  • Congratulations! Did you read jinjee’s raw pregnancy e-book? I think she says there the cleaner her diet was the easier the pregnancy and in particular, the birth was. I would think lemon juice would be good for sickness but do go with your instinct…
  • http://goneraw.com/recipes/1908-tuna-salad-sand… I’m obsessed with this one.
  • Receptionist\ life drawing model I keep changing my mind as to what it is I want to do for longer term… I’m considering massage therapy.
  • Just like about everything else, it is different for everyone.
  • You know, now that it’s colder I find that I feel the need to eat more… If you don’t ‘overeat’, causing discomfort, and only eat when you’re hungry, it’s usually ok. Just make sure to listen to your body and not just stuff your face till it hurts ;c…
  • Well… Buckwheat you can only sprout yourself, as far as I know. Generally store bought sprouts are long and you’re better off only have short sprouts (if you want to use it for recipes, that is, what is it that you want it for, anyway?) which can b…

  • Yes it’s been expensive for me. I buy organic produce, my husband loves tahini and the raw kind is expensive, we need a lot larger quantities of fruit and greens to get enough calories. It is cold here so we’ve been eating a lot more fats as well to…
  • I think I heard that cashews are like peanuts and have a type of fungus contamination to them… I don’t know though. I stay away from them, they just don’t ‘feel’ right to me.
  • I know what you mean about fiber, I can’t handle cruciferous veggies anymore, especially broccoli because the fiber causes distress. I do avoid those as their taste is a good indicator they’re no good, but to get enough veggies without the bulk, it …
  • I find that keeping indoors too warm makes it harder to cope with the brutal cold outside. I never use the space heater at my work no matter how chilly I get, it makes the walk home intolerable! I also steep slices of ginger in warm water all day …
  • I would suggest young coconut meat, when it’s a little too mature- beyond the jelly level, when it’s kinda hard. It’s perfectly creamy when you blend it well. Also, hemp seeds are a great substitute for a lot of creamy nuts.
  • Pine nuts? In my opinion cashews should be avoided anyway, they’re not really raw most of the time and seem like they’re really begging to not be eaten. They make me feel kinda rotten.
  • Well those who are prone to yeast infections just basically have an imbalance between the yeast and bacteria in their intestines, and the yeast is exploring the rest of their bodies and infecting other systems. Putting in more yeasts in the body- mu…
  • It sounds like a bad idea to me… I avoided cooked yeasted bread and I wouldn’t eat raw yeast either… It encourages overgrowth of yeasts in the intestines. Not everything raw is necessarily healthy, unfortunately.
  • It doesn’t actually state that they would be irradiating or pasteurizing.
  • Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to say I don’t want to support… I would love it to be a rumor.
  • From my understanding it was just a rumor and is not going to happen.
  • If you’re going to eat only or mostly fruit, you have to ‘earn it’ with a lot of exercise. I personally can’t tolerate fruit unless I work out before. I don’t really see the harm of course, exercise is essential in my book.
  • It is -21C here in Winnipeg! (not counting the windchill) I find that I do crave more greens and fats… I can’t stomach them much though. I put lots of ginger in my green juices and that helps. I eat more concentrated sugars like dried fruit, dates …
  • Also, the chocolate flavoured ones are not raw. They use cooked cacao.
  • “Main source of energy”: varies from person to person, in my opinion. Some people need carbohydrates, some protein, some fat. Personally, I get it from carbs. Yours would be for you to figure out. “where do you get your complex carbs from?”: you do…
  • Hey, I just wanted to say… I was in Toronto the other day and just so happened to have picked some of these up. They are amazing. Seriously, very good.

  • Nuts are generally something you shouldn’t go overboard with. High glycemic fruit and dried fruit in general.
  • What I’m wondering is, if they have so much formaldehyde on them etc, why do they still often get green mold on the white shell? (I’m not saying I’d buy them like that, I’ve just seen it all too often) It could probably be because of how long it muc…
  • I live in Manitoba, and despite the fact that there is a very good local resource site for this: http://www.100milemanitoba.org/ Most local produce here is root vegetables (of the hybrid kind, like potatoes and carrots most commonly) and grains (the…
  • Coconut oil is very very good for hypothyroidism!

  • I think most grains, especially wheat, have enzyme inhibitors that can only be rid of by sprouting or fermenting. Not sure though.
