  • queenfluff I am suggesting that as raw foodists that it is irresponsible to blame every medical condition on detoxing. When you experience certain medical conditions for such a long period of time and shrug them off as “detoxing” you are doing yours…
  • This is not about detoxing but rather thyroid imbalance. While there is no quick fix, medical attention maybe necessary and I don’t think we should be too quick to dismiss medical intervention just because it is not “raw.” The whole point at least f…
  • RawSarah, What kind of natural supplement do you take? Do you also take other meds?
  • At this point I really think it is more than just detoxing as this has been going on for over a year. I will look into a cleanse though. I do want to keep all my options open. I just don’t want this to turn into a medical nightmare especially if thi…
  • I was thinking about giving a brown seaweed extract a try. Supposedly it is very helpful for thyroid issues. Has anyone tried this extract before? I’m wondering how it compares to regular seaweed or other sea veggies?
  • I’ve been thinking about doing this since I am still having hair loss issues. I am currently using shampoo only twice a week and the days I don’t use shampoo I use a conditioner since my hair is so dry. For those of you who use apple cider vinegar d…
  • I use Vitamineral Green and I love it! I can mix in my smoothies or just plain juice and it tastes great.
  • I’ve heard both yoga and pilates is supposed to be very good for you.
  • I love to use Sugarelle body scrubs. They really leave my skin feeling smooth and the best part is that they don’t leave a mess on my bathtub floor. Ugh.. I just hate body scrubs that have coffee grinds and such. What’s the point of scrubbing yourse…
  • Don’t beat yourself up over it. It doesn’t accomplish anything. I’ve learned that when I fall off the wagon, and boy there have been many times, I just slowly incorporate more raw foods into my diet. Last month I ate a lot of cooked vegetarian foods…
  • I just feel so lost right now. This has been an ongoing problem since last year. It got better for awhile but now its worse. Last year I went to the doc and had some blood work done and my iron levels were fine and my thyroid was fine. I started mix…

  • I thought I would bump up this topic to see how everyone is doing with their hair loss. I for one am still having problems. I am currently eating 2 to 3 tablespoons of hemp seed and am taking 1 tablespoon of Vitamineral Green daily. I also bought Jo…

  • I can completely sympathize! I love sweets especially anything chocolate although lately I have been craving Saltines. I know strange. I find if I increase my consumption of sweet fruits like pineapple and grapes I do not crave all the sugary sweets…

  • Spinach, romanine, and bok choy are my favs right now.
  • I really like hemp seed as a source for protein. I find it very easy to digest and it is easy on the taste buds too.
  • Dreambrother, How much did your blood test cost and did you to a regular doctor or a nutritionist for that test? I would love to have something like that done but I am not sure where to go or if I could even afford it.
  • It’s been mentioned on here that the Raw Power protein shakes are supposed to be pretty good. That might be another option for you.
  • I don’t have the money right now to spend on a dehydrator so I am definitely looking for other alternatives. I’m hoping with all the creative minds on this board some one will chime in with some suggestions. :)
  • I don’t have a dehydrator either. I would love to get some tips from other members on how to dehydrate food, especially greens, without having to buy one.
  • How does the grapefruit juice fast work?
  • I’m not really craving anything. I have tried different greens like spinach and romaine thinking that those choices would be pretty mild. After 1 or 2 bites I stop eating. I just can’t handle it. I will have to look into raw kombochu drinks. I never…
  • It sucks! I haven’t been to my hair stylist in months because I am afraid that it might be too much stress for my hair and scalp. I started taking 1 to 2 tablespoons of hemp seed a day. I’m hoping that will have some sort of effect. It is too early …
  • For the last few weeks my hair did not fall out as much. I would even say I was losing the “normal” amount of hair. I don’t know if I can attribute that change to eating more calories or if I was eating a missed nutrient. In any event I was pretty e…
  • Just out of curiosity, how much hemp seed does one have to eat in order to promote hair growth?
  • I think it depends on the type of cooked food. I personally can eat cooked veggies without any problems but if I eat processed foods like potato chips I feel sick.

  • I don’t own a dehydrator. I tend to go for more simple recipes that are not nut heavy. It is easier on my stomach and it is less time consuming. Every once in awhile I will buy raw pre-made flax seed crackers but that is about it.
  • Breakfast: a banana Lunch: a green smoothie Snack: a pear and a handful of raisins Dinner: Not sure yet. Probably some more green smoothie and something else.

  • Socal, I did research Dr. Graham’s diet before I went raw and like I said I read more negative things about it than good. I find it to be incredibly restrictive and not balanced for long term use. I’m in this for the long haul so to speak. I don’t k…
  • I’ve looked into Graham’s 80/10/10 diet but read more negative things than positive about it. He advocates mostly a fruitarian diet with little emphasis on greens. I think his diet is ok for short term use especially if one is very obese. However, f…
  • I am not contradicting myself at all. Lets not confuse heart healthy fats with unhealthy fats like saturated fats and trans fats. The body needs “good” fats in order to be healthy..ie. nutrient absorption, cell health,etc.. To exclude fat completely…
