  • I still use a lot of spices, but not as much as before I went raw. I try to choose organic ones. I think spices are very healthy, whether raw or not, they are only a small percentage of our diet anyway.
  • Brewers yeast is not raw as I know, lecithin neither, but apple cider vinegar is generally raw, if it doesn’t say otherwise on the packaging.
  • A lot of syntetically made vitamins are produced using genetically modified bacteria, it is not better either!

  • shgadwa, I think you won’t eat too much saturated fat, as it is only present in a high percentage in coconut and palm oil. All the other nuts and seeds contain mostly unsaturated fats, but because of the calories and sluggishness caused buy excessiv…
  • Before breakfast I drink green or mate tea, usually both. My breakfast is fruit: apples, bananas or oranges. about 2 of them. If I’m working I have some fruit for lunch too, usually 2 apples. If I’m at home or if I’m working on a late shift I make s…

  • I totally agree with mandelicious! A lot of vegans eat honey and as long as it don’t harm the bees it is not bad at all. To make sure it is really does not harm the bees choose organic honey. It is really difficult to find really raw sweeteners, esp…
  • Honeygal I just soak them for overnnight and rinsing them twice a day, in the morning before going to work and in the evening after I get home.

  • I think you could also sprout them, they are so yummy, but before that you have to select the broken ones. If you don’t select them they may spoil the good ones.
  • Nicci that was the same for me before going raw! One important advice is to leave your body time to adapt to eating a lot of raw food.
  • cumin, coriander, cinnaon, nutmeg and chili are gret for good digestion, try to use them when you eat cruciferous veggies. Blending them may also help. If you still have these problem with them, try to eat other veggies, and after some time when you…
  • I would say a handful a day is enough, but as the others say listen to your body! Nuts are very high in calories, 100 grams are like 600 calories, and I think a big handful of them is equal with this amount. I love nuts, but if you don’t wnat to put…
  • I think you shouldn’t worry about the calories, if you eat enough fruit( as it seems from your posts) and some nuts or avocadoes every day you should be fine. For building muscles the hemp protein powder is a good choice, but you may want to add som…

  • I think that they are raw, but correct me anyone if I’m not right.
  • sprouted buckwheats are cheap and filling too, and a very good source of vitamin B, calcium and magnesium.
  • I love grated beet too, especially organic ones, they are soo nice and sweet. I have been eating them for so many years raw and still love them! Grated carrots are great too :) I love to mix them with grated apples, lemon juice, honey and cinnamon. …

  • mham, sprinkle lemon juice over it!
  • Most of the time it is working for me, but I don’t know anything gerneral about it, because I love sunflowerseeds. Maybe in some recipes where colour is important eg whipped cream, you better use some nuts, which are white.
  • No way to be eat soyabeens raw. First thing because it would taste horrible, second is that raw soyabeans are toxic, they contain substances which disturbs digestion, and very bad for the nerves. Thats why they can only be eaten after thorough heat …
  • Samilicious, I have never tried to sprout them in a bowl, but I think it may not gonna work that way, because they produce a mucousy thing around them and you have to rinse them very carefully and drain the water very well, otherwise they will spoil…
  • chakra essence, are they darkish brown? If yes they are not raw for sure.
  • If it has small tails it is ready! If you dry them in a dehydrator or on a radiator you get a great cereal! You can sprinkle them with some agave or honey, vanilla and cinnamon before dehydrating and add dried fruits or gojiberries after dehydrating…
  • I soak my buckwheats for 20-30 minutes before sprouting, but it is not necessary, you can sprout them without soaking you just rinse them 2-3 times a day, until they are ready. It takes 2-3 days.
  • I think yor skin and hair will be much more beautiful on raw diet!
  • I think your doctor is very wrong! I eat more than 6 apples a day, but I don’t feel any sugar highs and lows anymore, as I did before. It is incredible and sad how little doctors know about nutrition! Thats why I don’t go to doctors generally, only…
