  • Ditto to the other comments. I wouldn't use that much oil myself because it makes me feel weird, too. I usually just use some avocado in place of oil (like in raw soups) and it seems to treat me better :).
  • You could definitely use raw honey (if you're not against it). That's what I do. I really have never liked agave nectar.
  • There is no need for meat in ANY humans' diet. I don't really care what that article says, anyone can type "why is meat good" into Google and wait for a million useless links to come up. It is very much possible to survive and thrive on a raw vegan/…

  • Apes are not vegans. A huge part of their diets are made up of fruit and greens, but they also eat bugs and small rodents.
  • "The Raw Food Detox Diet" by Natalia Rose saved me from making so many mistakes when I began eating raw! I highly recommend it. Also, "The 80/10/10 Diet" by Dr. Douglas Graham. And remember, don't over-complicate things! Just eat your fruits and veg…

  • YES, I agree, Swayze. Sweet, any time you feel like you want buckwheat, stuff yourself silly with fruit! :) Supplementing your diet with greens (romaine, kale, swiss chard, spinach, etc.) and getting plenty of exercise, and sunshine will do wonders,…
  • If anything, more fiber will make nutrients more available for absorbtion. I've never calculated my fiber intake, but I'm not worried about it at all.
  • I agree with you DR, but Dr. Atkins died from falling on slick ice in a parking lot, and hitting his head on pavement... Not from being obese or having a heart attack.

  • Again, Kurtie, you always seem to be promoting meat on this VEGAN forum. Doubtful. References, please? And, that doesn't change the fact that "human carnivores" probably only poop once every 12 days.
  • Kurtie: Suger (i.e from sweet fruit) is the brains PREFERRED source of energy. It is effortlessly used by the body. Why would you want to put your body through all of that work to convert protein to glucose!???! That is just stupid, and damaging. Th…
  • Raw Crossfitter: I think I will add some more exercise into my routine, maybe some running, body-weight exercises (push-ups, chin-ups, etc.) and now that summer is near, I'll be spending a lot more time outdoors which will be great for me :o).
  • Wow, thank you everyone! This is very motivating, and encouraging. I posted this on here and 30BaD as well, so I could get advice from everyone in different walks of the "raw" life. =] I was also wondering, even though I do a moderate amount of exrc…

  • I do take a B12 supplement. It's just a liquid shot once every few days... I'd rather be on the safe side, no harm in being cautious.
  • Have you tried millet? Though grains are not ideal, millet is one of the only non acid forming grains, and you can cook it up like you would oat meal, you can make it sweet or savoury. Just my two cents, that's what I use when I'm having a real crav…
  • Luxdivon: Thank you for the support and advice. I do think that it would be be benificial to take it slow and maybe even just start out with a green breakfast smoothie each morning and just include more fruit and veg throughout the day instead of ju…
  • Luxdivon: I haven't binged in about 3 months, which is a really big accomplishment for me. When I was binging, I would binge for hours at a time on peanut butter sandwitches and anything else- that went on for about 3-4 months, out of control. I wou…
  • Dancin Durian: It's so nice to have support about this. It's really difficult to find common ground with anyone around me right now- especially my friends. Eating disorders are very isolating and I have nearly been ignoring my friends, and everyone …
  • Juicefastfan- Thank you so much for the advice! That is a very good idea, printing out facts and having something for her to look at. I definitely will bring some books of mine in, and print out some things. (:
  • I agree with Sarah, listen to your body! If one Avo feels good, go with it. If more or less feels better, go with that :)

  • Thanks :), I'm starting a juice fast tomorrow... For body, and mind detox. Wish me luck.
  • I really appreciate the input about Rx drugs, they are simply poison. That is the worst quick fix bandaid to "patch up" where life is lacking, you know? I would hate to be put on a prescription, especially because I know how damaging it can be.. emo…
  • Thank you guys for all of the positive feedback! Its really nice to hear from different points of view. I feel that I was/am on a sort of "self destructive" path.. and I am slowly now trying to find my way out. I indeed know that there are emotional…
  • Luxdivon, thank you for your reply :) I never eat fast food. Before I went raw I considered myself a bit of a health freak haha. but my cravings are always for starchy things like bread, and crackers and occasionally dairy (like yogurt). Nothing too…
  • Sa-raw, For your digestion issues, have you considered, or do you already practice any sort of food combining regimin? I highly recommend looking into that, if you haven't already, I have found that it is very helpful with any sorts of digestive iss…
