  • Here’s a link to Alissa Cohen’s “Mock Turkey Loaf.” I’ve had it and it’s very tasty. http://www.therawdiet.com/thanksgiving.html

  • I’d be glad to send you distant Reiki if you’d like. :-)
  • I would think the commercial stuff (that you get in stores) certainly is cooked; they’re processed in a “boiling water bath.” It is possible to make your own raw, though.

  • I’m not sure if it’s raw or not…freeze-dried would imply to me that it isn’t heated, but I’m not sure how freeze-drying affects the life force. However, since I do use frozen fruits in smoothies, I also use Hot Just Veggies (sparingly) as a salad to…

  • Bananas are inexpensive, and make wonderful smoothies. I don’t know where you live, but apples and pears are in season here; you could probably find those cheap at the farmers’ market. I’m personally not a big fan of winter squashes, but I’m trying …
  • Hi Rawmaiden, this is indeed a friendly place where you’ll find lots of encouragement. I’m fortunate that my children are old enough to cook (or uncook, if they choose) for themselves, so I only have to worry about feeding ME. Having a green market …

  • Although I love fresh fruits (always have, even before I went raw), I have to admit it’s the more exotic fare that keeps me raw. Raw cauliflower “mashed potatoes;” raw “tacos;” zucchini pasta with olive oil, raw ACV, basil, and chopped tomatoes. I a…
  • I’m very fortunate that my co-workers are all supportive of my raw lifestyle. They’ve watched 60 lbs. melt off of me right before their eyes, and I hear nothing but encouragement and congratulations from them. Some have talked to me a bit about the …
  • I’m a statistical programmer for a clinical research organization. When money is tight (I have 6 other mouths to feed, a child in college, and 3 elderly vehicles that need frequent repairs), I try to stick with salad and fruits. Nuts and pre-prepare…

  • Interesting topic! I’m a member of the Long Hair Loom (http://www.longhairloom.com) and it was there that I first heard of people not using shampoo. I personally haven’t used shampoo in over a year; I wash my hair with conditioner only and it’s a lo…

  • Hello! I’m Suzy, from Florence, Kentucky, which is about 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m a widow with 2 teen daughters; the elder is an omnivore, the younger is an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I had dabbled in raw before, but have been about 90-9…
