  • THANKS paxton! I forgot about foraging. I want to start, and this is the perfect link to use. remember foragers – if you are new, be very careful what you eat – some plants are poisonous. carefully identify, then eat only a tiny amt and wait a day o…
  • you can look up the bill by searching for this: H.R. 2419 EH Section 10106 i forget what website you use… probably you can see it through the senate website. but it’s too late, the bill went to committee on april 18, 2008. now we just sit and worry.
  • I found the bill. But, I can’t figure out what part contains the Specialty Crop Marketing Order that would remove our ability to purchase uncooked greens. I can’t figure out what ‘engrossed as agreed to or passed by house” means. http://thomas.loc.g…
  • MOTH-this happened to me. my eyes just got way too dry at some point (in my mid twenties) and for the past few years, glasses only. (unrelated to going raw, it just happened). an eye dr. could test how dry your eyes are.
  • luna blu – during my transition to raw, i need sugar, so i use honey (im a strict beegan – i use no animal products, but i use honey). i started this when i heard that agave might not be truly raw. the agave debate continues…

  • nycgrrl – for me, it’s important to drink water 1/2 hr before and 2 hrs after a meal. i always eat melons without any other food. i typically eat fruit+greens or fruit, and keep veggies/nuts/seeds separate. remember – cukes, avo, tomatoes, are actua…

  • 1. on the forums ive heard that overdoing it on nuts/coconuts/avocado can increase weight, for SOME people, not others. i limit it to 1/2 cup nuts, 1 avo per day, and maintain weight. i do calorie count, but that just helps make sure i eat enough fr…

  • The best thing to eat at night is fruit. It digests quickly when eaten alone (not combined with fats) – eat fruit an hour before bed, and it’ll be digested by the time you rest.
  • try eating small meals more often throughout the day. keep plenty of fruit in a backpack, and eat every 3 hours. that’s how i overcame my nighttime ‘binges’ on raw food.
  • Hehe – we are what we eat, nice one audrey. Right now, I’m 1/3 pecan date dessert, 1/3 blended watermelon, and 1/3 pear. i’m feeling rather squishy! victoria put raw foods in terms i could understand. it wasn’t biology jargon – it was plain english.…
  • Kendra- I’m glad you like the book! It has so many sweet stories. Green smoothies have helped me so much. Because of green for life, i understood the importance of regularly drinking my greens. Now, I’m more emotionally balanced, digest things bette…

  • It’s so incredible that she was able to cure her son’s diabetes. Now, 25% of children in the US are prediabetic. THIS is the answer. RAW can heal them. I only hope the message reaches them in time!
  • What a joyous house to grow up in! I agree Mon46 – i felt that she creates a loving/accepting space when she enters a room. She is so happy about eating raw, that folks can’t help but join in.
  • Zoe- reading how she turned her family raw overnight was the reason I turned raw too!! Her talks on video are so sweet and inspiring. She explains raw foods practically, in a down to earth way. She keeps it simple, and makes it accessible to everyon…
  • i haven’t – i have eaten 5 at a time before. sorry to hear you felt sick! i’ve felt sick when my food was too HEAVY - like too many nuts, too much spices/food combinations make me nauseous.
  • Thanks!

  • What i’m finding is that small amounts of food fill me up quickly, so i have to spread out my eating into smaller meals throughout the day. I eat every 3-4 hours, approx. 200-400 calories per meal, so that I can eat enough for the day. otherwise, i’…
