  • This is something I am still working on. I have only juice fasted for one day successfully but I think ideally once a month or some folks even go once a week. Something I will have to work up to.
  • if you get it in the store and it does not say “raw” on the label, probably not. you can make your own, there is a good recipe with zucchini instead of chickpeas. just search the recipes for hummus.

  • Wow, what a story! When I was on a wild edible walk, they gave me a piece of advice that I keep in mind. If three different people have told you that it is edible and you have seen it in three different locations, then it is safe. Those trying to wi…

  • wow Zoe that is great news. I was feeling bad about eating too much coconut butter because we just bought some. No more guilt now! Thanks.
  • I can’t post mine either. I have a mac.
  • Ok, yeah that’s the approach I used at work. And I do use. Somehow it is easier with strangers than family, if you know what I mean. I have a cute little lunch box I will for sure have with me, I guess it is just a matter of bringing that along more…
  • the main thing is my family hates waiting to eat. so I want to have it planned out before I go. I tried eating at a veggie place when we were in NYC and it had cooked veggies in it! they tasted gross. the problem i run into is that they get so hungr…
  • do you think an asian place would make a salad? i have no idea if they would.
  • so, other folks gave good advice but I will add that at cost me more at first when i was still figuring out what I liked. I also had a bigger appetite back then. I had to eat so much to transition. Now that we (my husband is high raw) have figured o…
  • Wow! I think it’s Ok to eat lots of dates. Your body probably needed them. Good for you and keep at it! You are doing awesome! You gave up a lot at once.
  • mysticbutterfly, some folks don’t absorb B12 very good through their gut. you can take a sub-lingual type which may absorb better for you. You don’t have to take krill oil. You can get it from blue green algae which has DHA not just EFA.

  • karine, i hear ya. i’m a total sugar addict. i gotta be away from it for 2 weeks or a cave. and then after that it’s still touch and go. so for me i found 100% raw worked best. for my husband he is not 100% raw but eats only whole foods when not eat…

  • gomindy, good for you! I hope you keep feeling better. I used to get an energy dip in the afternoons, and some fruit or veggie juice does the trick.

  • i eat my fair share of raw dessert but i find i am much better able to moderate myself eating it because it does not contain cane sugar. that stuff does me in. it takes me about 2 weeks to detox off sugar and stop craving it. hearty: try some of the…
  • gordienali, that sounds like me a few months ago! I had reactived mono too, 20 pounds extra baby weight, wait, nope mine was not from a baby and it was a little more than 20. i have to blame the kids that I taught not my own. anyhow, i did see a nat…
  • nothing killed to produce milk? the whole veal industry was created to get rid of all the extra calves born from continued breeding of cows. you have to keep a cow pregnant to have her give milk. and all the male chicks from the egg industry are kil…

  • I grow basil, oregano, thyme, dill, parsley, and mint. I do it in little containers outside on my porch. What kind of space do you have? Are you growing from seed or starters? starters are more expensive but worth it because you don’t have to wait a…

  • bbcc33, food processor is great! I think it’s my most used equipment. actually, the main reason i do plan ahead is sometimes I want to make something and I am out of just one ingredient. I just can’t keep everything stocked all the time, like jalenp…

  • i think this is a little like the chicken and the egg. i have heard both, and I am just not sure. there are people who get sick from eating cooked food, so I would say for them that cooked food is not good. but eating lots of raw and a small amount …
  • Hmm that is a good question. i haven’t seen any where I live, but I saw you live in NYC you might be able to find some. Have you been to Bonobo’s? One of the things that I like best about being raw is the fresh dressings I make myself. I like it sim…

  • Try not to get a round one or one with a fan on the top. We did a lot of reasearch and ended up with the excaliber. I only have 4 tray, we don’t dehydrate too much so it works out.

  • the best advice that the folks here gave me was if you eat something cooked, there is no reason why you can’t go back to eating raw. in fact for me after about a month or so I had a few bites of some cooked items. it only solidified that I wanted to…

  • Yeah I have one friend who REALLY teases me about it. So far I have stayed away from her in eating situations. But some people are nice about it. Especially when I tell them the reasons why I am doing it (for my health).
