  • Oh, greenghost, I’ve always wanted to work at a camphill village. My friend, an anthroposophist and former waldorf teacher is studying medicine so that he can start one in Oregon soon. I can’t wait. It sounds like you had such a beautiful experience…

  • In Green For Life, Victoria Boutenko wrote about how her children had tooth sensitivity after a raw food diet. But she said that once they started eating more greens (i.e. green smoothies) their sensitivity went away. So eat your greens! :)
  • check the cord. This happened to us too and we realized that the cord to our Vitamix was behind our toaster—which melted it :( Luckily my husband was able to fix the cord.
  • Oh yes, troubles reminded me too that some of the remedies I suggested weren’t vegan (wool, beeswax). Hope I didn’t offend anyone.
  • Oh, thanks simplyraw. Most of it is things I’ve learned from Waldorf training, actually :) GearShifter, mmmhmmm, the water bottle should definitely help your tummy. I’ve heard that cramps, esp. menstrual cramps, come from not enough heat in the body…
  • Oh no, Gear Shifter! It’s that time of year again. Hmmm, well, I can share some home remedies that I do. If it has just started, you can take a thin slice of lemon and put it in your sock (under the arch of your foot) I think this works by drawing t…
  • thyroid. Hmmm. I think I had it checked a few years ago and all was normal, I can double check though. Movement… yes, I always seem to be moving. I am capable of being still, but not for long :) How come?
  • parasites. ew. Yeah, I had considered that before. But everyone in my family is like this and we always have been. I think it’s more of a metabolism thing, but maybe I’ll try some parasite cleansing just in case,,thanks!
  • Jeeze, I can’t decide now if I want to drink the green smoothie I was drinking (with 1 1/2 TB of coconut oil in it) or throw it out! :)
  • Annabelle, you may have answered part of my question for me too… I didn’t know that coconut oil speeds up metabolism. I have it everyday in my green smoothies (sometimes 3x per day!) I thought I was doing a good thing by adding in the fat. Oy!!! Raw…
  • Oh, thanks for the ideas, everyone! melavarde, I did find out that I am gluten intolerant and allergic to casein (as well as some other nuts/fruits) in the spring (May). I have had zero gluten and casein since then, but maybe my intestines are still…
  • I know, I know, I feel guilty complaining about this. Whenever I ask anyone about it they say that I should be glad that things are this way. But sometimes I worry about constantly feeling hungry. I wonder if my body is getting all of the nutrients …
  • beany, Klean Kanteen makes a real tall stainless cup. We also have a small wide mouth thermos and that works well. Guess I was wondering if any companies have made a smoothie-specific travel cup. I saw one in the move “What Happened in Vegas” and th…
  • It’s a hard decision: deciding whether you want to vote for the person that you truly would like to be the leader of the US, or voting for one of the candidates with the current popular vote that you would prefer. I can see both sides and I can see …
  • jenoz! That is great to hear that someone understands what I am talking about! My mom has 5 autoimmune disorders (last time I talked to her- we aren’t very close) I don’t have any that I know of- but I have many allergies. And to me it makes sense t…

  • I also wonder about how a person’s genetics is related to their personality traits. I often meet people who have a disease that in some ways matches their personality. It’s hard to explain, but do you know what I mean? Like a woman who has an issue …

  • Sometimes when I see videos like that, I think, and science didn’t already know about this? It seems kind of obvious to me that environmental factors can affect genetics. This wasn’t discussed on the website link that you left, Meditating, but I als…

  • This is an interesting topic, meditating. There is genetic disease in my family that has caused sudden death in one member, stroke and heart attack in another, and cancer (and ultimately death) in another. But it’s the same gene mutation. I decided …

  • It’s my favorite herb! I make an almond mylk, cocoa, mint, banana smoothie with it. It’s soooo good!
  • For some reason your link didn’t work :(
  • mammamilk, that video made me cry. Jeeze, I’m emotional today :) In a good way, though! Everyone should take a look at that short video, but especially parents and teachers. Thank you for sharing it!
  • Remember that time when you were a kid and you didn’t quite understand the concept of “owning property” or immigration yet… and the world seemed like this place where you could just roam free and meet people and live wherever you wanted to without h…
  • aspire- wow, I just finished watching the video you left a link to. It is a lot to think about. Ultimately, it is an important message about love. Thank you. dagny- I am grateful that you are there to analyze and be logical about things and remind u…
  • Oh wow, aspire, you see so many beautiful things that it made me all teary-eyed.
  • troubles: I just love that you are a conservative hippie. It’s very unique and provides you with a lot of interesting insights that are very interesting to read on these posts. so, thanks for being you :)
  • I thought of another one: I would love it if people in the US drove cars less. I mean a lot less. It would take total reorganization of our cities, but can you imagine if things were set up only for bikes/walking/and public transportation. That woul…
  • :) troublesjustabubble: a conservative hippie :) Yes, the debt is an issue too. Amazingly, I don’t think about that as an issue as much; but you’re right. I would like our country to be debt-free too.
  • I guess I’ll start: I really would like to see better healthcare in the US. There are so many people who need it. And I would love to see the war end. And I would love it if public education improved.
  • Oh, no, just realized I’m doing it again. I once belonged to a myspace group where people would post their artwork and then everyone would rip it apart and tell eachother how much it sucked. They really derived joy from it! It drove me crazy because…
  • Wow, Rawleen, you seem really upset. I’m sure that mammamilk didn’t do anything intentional. I’m sorry that you are feeling slighted, but don’t worry, no one is judging you here. I’m interested in what you have to say :)
