  • Yeah, I've previously put being cold down to the lack of warm food in my diet, but as I'm only at about 80%ish raw I don't think it can be that. My other thought was that my overall body fat has dropped and this may have tipped the balance. The thin…
  • Thanks for the comments guys, I'm definitely going to look at a good B12 supplement. iliveyourdream, I've been very lucky in that I've never suffered any serious injuries or problems from running so I'm afraid I don't have any advice I could give. I…
  • Yeah, I've been thinking about looking at B12 supplements. As for cardio, I am a keen runner and run over 7km at least 3 times a week. I also do various other classes and enjoy yoga and pilates too.
  • Yeah, I soaked my almonds too long and they were a bit strange. I always dehydrate mine too to get back the crunch.

  • Thanks Suasoria, it played a huge part in helping me turn vegan. It was the worst thing I've ever seen and it will stay with me forever. Whenever I struggle - I just think back to that and know I can never go back.

  • I'd agree that it's my ethical beliefs which have kept me motivated in staying on the right path. I actually got into raw for health reasons and wasn't a veggie or vegan to start with. This meant I had nothing to stop me eating crappy food like choc…

  • Wow, what a menu juicefastfan - I'm very impressed. Mikfizzle, there is a great lasagna recipe at: http://imsorawkin.blogspot.com/2009/04/seriously-best-spinach-lasagna.html It is sooo good. We don't have thanksgiving here in the UK so it's strange …

  • I love both and have a hard time trying to decide which I feel best from. Although I feel physically fuller after a green smoothie, they don't actually keep my hunger at bay any longer than a juice does. In fact, it's only since I started juicing th…
  • Thanks Luxdivon, that's very interesting. I first experienced kundalini whilst on a raw food/yoga retreat and really loved it. Every session left me feeling high, totally at peace and almonst in tears (from joy). Was quite a strange experience but o…

  • luxdivon, what do you mean by a 'kundalini experience'? I've recently been getting into kundalini and find it amazing. Would love to hear why it can get rough?

  • It's funny, I daren't go for more than a couple of days without running as I never want to get our of the routine. I get such a buzz from exercise that I don't want to stop and loose my motivation. I went on holiday in Sept so didn't run for over a …

  • Oh yeah, free writing is a good one for getting your true feelings out. I've done this a couple of times when I've been feeling upset and it's amazing what pours out and how therapeutic it feels.

  • Nice one luxdivon, it's always a great feeling when you know you've made a good decision. I have moments like that when I can feel myself veering in a shop to the crisp isle and I'm always so proud when I just keep walking past. I always give myself…

  • Hi ItVeganAtGenesis, you shouldn't feel bad for snacking! I have to eat every few hours and I've always been this way. When I first went raw, I had to eat LOADS and was a bit paranoid that people would think I was a really greedy. As time has gone o…
  • You're right, nutritional yeast isn't raw but I'm not 100% so I don't worry about it personally. You could use argave in place of honey, but this can be hard (or impossible, depending on your beliefs) to get raw. Some people don't like to use argave…

  • Hi Tweedle, I would say start slow and see how you go. Don't let yourself get too overwhelmed by it all. I had to eat loads when I first went raw and was eating every few hours. Sometimes I eat quite simply and just have fruit and salads, other ti…

  • Yeah, I find sprouted quinoa a bit bitter so tend to sprinkle it in salads with a strong dressing. I've seen a sweet breakfast/porridge style recipe using quinoa but I've never gottern round to trying it. (http://goneraw.com/recipe/sprouted-quinoa-b…
  • I had the same dilemma as you a few months back but ended up buying a centrifugal (Phillips) juicer. I simply couldn't bring myself to pay hundreds of pounds for a masticating one and decided the whole oxidising issue wasn't something I would too mu…
  • daniefon, you could try using sunflower seeds instead of cashews. I'm sure it would work as well. I love kale chips but tend to scale down the amount of nuts I use and they're still lovely.

  • Yeah, I love the look of those VFF's! Might have to get a pair soon as my current trainers are getting a bit old now.

  • Gemma, it's so great to hear you're doing well and getting so much from the raw lifestyle! I would go mad living with my in-laws (and also having to do your own thing in someone elses house) - I take my hat off to you. I know what you mean about sme…
  • Well done Gemma, you sound like you're doing great! It really does help to have friends to encourage you. I don't live too far from you (Manchester) and it's always nice to hear from other UK raw foodists. Makes me feel like I'm not so alone in my r…
  • You are doing so well! One thing I try if I can feel a craving coming on is to distract myself. I often eat in the evenings when I'm bored so I jump on my laptop and either surf the web or play a game or come on this site for motivation. I am normal…
  • Oh yeah, I am really pleased with the things I made with my pumpkin! Pumpkin Pecan Cinnamon Cranberry Spelt Tea Cakes (http://goneraw.com/node/16340) and Pumpkin Bread (http://goneraw.com/node/4237) Would def recommend!
  • I've just used a pumpkin this weekend for a couple of things and I saved the seeds. I washed them, then soaked overnight, then dehydrated for a couple of hours. Haven't got a clue if this was the best thing to do or not, but went with what I normall…

  • Hiya, I bought a dinky culinary pumpkin (as opposed to the bigger carving ones) the other day and I'm planning on making a couple of things this weekend. I've picked out these two recipes which I thought looked nice: Pumpkin Bread (http://goneraw.co…
