  • Do you have a blender? If not, I'm sure you could pickup a cheap one which would be fine. My advice would be to get into green smoothies. They are delicious and good for you. So many variations to keep things interesting too. Also, you could incorpo…
  • Congratulations so far on your sucess! Don't worry about the minor slips, they will happen now and again. Not being hard on yourself is the key, as is enjoying your raw adventure. You have a great attitude so I'm sure you'll continue to do really we…
  • The apple cobbler off this site is one of the nicest things I've ever made - can definitely recommend!
  • demallen05, I know just what you mean about all the questions - after my work colleagues found out I was eating raw, they asked me hundreds of questions and intently studied my food for months. It did my head in a bit but it's only natural to be cur…

  • Nope, I don't even know another vegan never mind another raw foodist. That's why I find this site (and other similar ones) so useful and motivating.

  • I'm about 80%ish raw and the difference it has made to my complexion is amazing. I used to have constant spots but now I can't remember the last time I had one. My skin started to clear up within a couple of months of going high raw.
  • You talk good sense Jaimie, thanks for your comments.
  • Thanks for your comments, maybe you're right in that I need to mix up my workouts a bit. Im really into running so tended to stick to that mostly whilst doing a bit of yoga and pilates. I've just joined the gym (as it's too cold/dark to run outside …
  • I have always thought that it is simple in terms of burning more calories than I consume, but I'm struggling to lose belly fat despite regularly working out and closely monitoring my calorie intake. I figure I am either failing to count up correctly…
  • I think I would have vomited too if I'd drank that smoothie! All the advice above is spot on. My favorite green smoothies are: Pinapple, banana, water & spinach Mixed berries, banana, water & spinach Apple juice, banana, kiwi, pear & spi…
  • Congrats! Great to hear other peoples success stories. Keep up the good work.
  • My fav brownie concoction is fairly simple, but so tasty. Walnuts and/or pecans, cacoa (and/or carob) powder, soaked dates, raisins, drop of vanilla essence and a bit of the date soak water to get things mixed nicely.

  • Great idea, I may have to write some myself sometime.

  • If you are going to eat cooked, you could have simple things like baked sweet potatoes or roasted squash. They are nice with a home made veggie sauce poured over. I'm not 100%, and these are the kinds of thing I have when eating cooked. Simple, tast…
  • I think I must be lucky in that I've never been disappointed by anything that's come out of my dehydrator! I have loved both the savory and sweet dishes I've made. A couple of things I've really loved: cinnamon rolls (http://goneraw.com/recipe/cinna…
  • I love cinnamon (in everything!) and this is a comforting breakfast: http://goneraw.com/recipe/buckwheat-porridge (I whizz in my blender until it's slightly warm.) I've never really got into raw soups as my blender isn't really powerful enough to ge…
  • Vida.Gitana, thats really interesting. I haven't had a period since coming off the pill (Nov) and it's annoying me as I'm trying to get pregnant. I'm taking maca but would give Reiki a try if this helped.
  • I've heard Maca is good for hormones (and the libido) so I would recommend researching that.
  • OMG Rawaholic, just reading that you had raw persimmon jam has spun my head! So jealous! I am in love with persimmons but haven't had one for such a long time now.
  • Violet, I admire your honesty and the fact you are happy to just go with what works for you. It's sometimes easy to feel ousted for not striving to be 100% at all times. I know lots of people here are fine with not being 100%, but it's still nice to…
  • I know what you mean Kazzie, drinking is my downfall. I went out and had a couple of pear ciders and a cocktail last night and on the way home my BF stopped by the Spar for snacks. I wish I had just waited outside. I ended up getting a bag of Snack …
  • Kazzie, that's so sweet of your friend - what an effort! I don't think my friends would have a clue on where to start. They can only just cope with the fact I'm vegan. :-)
  • AVL, I think you did great considering it was Thanksgiving - well done! I find it tough when I go back to my folks. They do buy in loads of food in for me bless them, but having all the cooked food around too is hard.
  • AVL, I would probably eat that much too if I was doing that level of exercise. I don't know how you find the time to fit that amount of training and eating into your day!
  • Hi Shelia, How about this recipe: http://goneraw.com/recipe/dairy-free-creamed-spinach-dip I tried it but didn't get the measurements quite right so it wasn't as good as I think it could have been. It was still nice though so would recommend giving …
  • Congrats Janiece! That's a great start and you'll really start to feel the benefits if you carry on in this way. Once you start down the raw path, you'll always remember how good it makes you feel so even if you slip up (and everyone does) or have b…
  • I would say green curly cabbage might be a good substitute for kale. (I haven't tried it myself though so would be interested to know how it comes out)
  • I heard adding a squeeze of lemon helps. (Dunno if that's for taste reasons or to do with the oxidation)
  • 1: What country are you from? England 2: What's your occupation? Operations manager 3: How long have you been Raw? 85% ish for 15 months 4: Favourite Film? Can't believe I'm going to say this but it might just be Sex And The City. The perfect chick …
  • Buxton (in Derbyshire) has one I think. My mum and dad used to drive there with big empty bottles to fill up on fresh water. It was a while back though so not sure if people can still collect it. I'm actually going there next weekend so I should col…
